The book festival will be opened by Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human
Capacities.
Opening remarks will be made by the representatives of the Visegrad
Countries: Milan Štěch, president of the Senate of the Parliament of the
Czecz Republic; Beata Jaczewska,director of the International Visegrad
Fund; and István Íjgyártó, Minister of State for Cultural and Science
Diplomacy for Hungary.
A short concert by Qaartsiluni Ensemble will follow.

A Bookish Night 2017 – Night of the independent bookstores
In 2017 we are celebrating the wide range and excellent services offered
by independent bookstores for the 6th time.
Nearly 30 bookstores in Budapest and in the countryside is organizing
programs for this night, many of them working together with foreign
cultural institutes.
Those who love the uniqueness of small bookstores and like to discover
new places – especially after sunset –, will be able to choose from a wide
variety of programs.
If you want your trip between each bookstore to be extraordinary, you
can sign up for one of our three book-themed city walks.
Bookish Night starts in the afternoon and lasts until midnight.
