Doxology …………............................................................................................................cc 437
Praise God from Whom all bless-ings flow; Praise Him, all crea-tures here be-low;
Praise Him a-bove, ye heav’n-ly hosts; Praise Fa-ther, Son, and Ho-ly Ghost. A-men.
Encouragements & Exhortations
- 1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-10
As you come to the Lord, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,
you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual
sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. … you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a
people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into
his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received
mercy, but now you have received mercy.
- Psalm 117
Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples!
Church: For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!
[Amen.]

Matthew 22:37-40…
Call to Confession
All who truly and earnestly repent of your sins, and seek to be reconciled with your neighbors,
and intend to lead the new life, following the commandments of God, and walking in his holy ways:
draw near with faith and make your humble confession to Almighty God.
[The Congregation is invited to bow low before the Lord (kneeling is optional)]
Confession of Sin & Prayer for Mercy
- from the Book of Common Prayer
(silent confession, followed by corporate confession)
Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker and judge of us all:
We acknowledge and repent of our many sins and offenses,
which we have committed by thought, word, and deed, against your divine majesty,
provoking most justly your righteous anger against us.
We are deeply sorry for these transgressions.
The burden of them is more than we can bear.
Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father;
for your Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all that is past;
and grant that we may evermore serve and please you in newness of life,
to the honor and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Words of Absolution for the Penitent
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great mercy has promised forgiveness of sins
to all those who sincerely repent and with true faith turn to him,
have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,
and bring you to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Consecration
God Equips and Prepares His People
Scriptural Words of Comfort
Rise up, all you of faith, who’ve been baptized into Christ and have confessed your sins,
and hear the Word of God to all who truly turn to him:
John 3:16 God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but
have eternal life.
1 John 1:7-9 … if we walk in the light, as he [God] is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of
Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess
our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Psalm 34:17-18, 22 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit…
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
Pastor: You are forgiven, and delivered from sin, through Christ!
All: Thanks be to God!
Gloria in Excelsis (Glory be …)………………………………………………………………………….... cc insert
Amen.
The Nicene Creed
Christian, what do you believe?
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds;
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by
whom all things were made. Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by
the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into
heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the
dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Let us pray for the Church and for the world.
Almighty and ever-living God, we are taught by your holy Word to offer prayers and supplications and to give
thanks for all people. We humbly pray that you would mercifully receive our prayers. Inspire continually, we pray,
the universal Church with the spirit of truth, unity and concord; and grant that all who confess your holy Name may
agree in the truth of your holy Word, and live in unity and godly love.

Give grace, heavenly Father, to all church overseers, pastors and deacons that by their life and teaching, they may
proclaim your true and life-giving Word, and rightly and duly administer your holy Sacraments. And to all your
people give your heavenly grace, and especially to this congregation, that with reverent and obedient hearts we may
hear and receive your holy Word, and serve you in holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives. Silence

We remember before you Lord, all your servants departed this life in faith and fear: and we bless your holy Name

Lord in your mercy.
Hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father, grant these our prayers for Jesus Christ’s sake, our only Mediator and Advocate, who lives and
reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and who taught us to pray, saying,
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, forever. Amen.
The Sanctus …………………….......................................................................................cc 407
Holy, holy, holy, Holy is the Lord. Holy, holy, holy, Worshiped and adored.
He without beginning, ageless and the same, is and ever shall be, Glory to His Name.
Holy, holy, holy, Holy is the Lord. Holy, holy, holy, Worshiped and adored.
Lord of hosts, the glory from thy throne out-poured, fills the earth and heavens; Holy is the Lord.

Words of Instruction & Invitation
Here at this table we proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.
The Lord Jesus instructed that with these holy gifts we celebrate His memorial,
remembering his passion and death, his resurrection and ascension, and his promise to come again.
By his merits and death, and through faith in his Blood, we and the whole Church
may receive forgiveness of our sins and all other benefits of his passion,
making us one body with him that he may dwell in us, and we in him.
And here we offer to God, ourselves, our souls and bodies,
to be a living sacrifice, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All disciples of Christ are called to participate faithfully in this covenant meal.
