Fall 2014 Buzz Club Newsletter

Cyber Kids and
Computers
What is cyberspace?
Cyberspace is anything that has to do with the internet. We use the internet for personal things,
like communicating and staying connected to family and friends. We use the internet to do business
online and to manage transportation, electricity, banking and lots of other everyday activities.
We even use the internet to play video games, download music, and to watch movies or TV!
Why do we need to protect cyberspace?
There are crimes that happen in real life, like theft, abuse and even bullying, that are now happening
on the internet. It’s your job to help protect yourself, your family and your friends, and you can do
it by remembering these simple cyber safety tips:
Fall 2014
• If you receive an email or message that asks for your personal information, like your name,
address, age, phone number, school, or anything else, do not respond to the email and tell your
parents immediately.
• When choosing a screen name or email address, choose one that does not contain your real name.
• Do not use the same password twice and do not share it with anyone other than your parents.
• Do not communicate with strangers online.
• If you see someone bullying another person on the internet, tell an adult right away.

It’s almost time to celebrate International Credit Union Day again!
This year’s theme, “—Local Service, Global Good—” gives us the chance to recognize the great
things credit unions do for their communities. We hope you and your parents can join us
as we celebrate this special day. We’ll even have a special gift for you in the lobby!

National Credit Union Youth Week was a
HUGE SUCCESS. Even though we had messy
weather on Friday, we still had about 30 kids
participate in the Beach Bash event with a
different beach-themed event taking place
every day. We had a total of NINE NEW youth
accounts opened during Youth Week! We also
had 204 youth members make deposits
totaling $21,863.17. Super job!
Bronco Federal Credit Union sends
a BIG THANKS to the entire staff for
participating in the "Catch the $ave
Wave" theme and for making the whole
week a big hit!
