Wheaton College Residence Life Office 2017 Don’t be left holding a box— Figure out what to do with your stuff before you leave in May! ****DO NOT THROW THIS AWAY—YOU WILL NEED THIS INFORMATION**** Campus storage Continuing students may store selected items where you live, at your own risk, according to the guidelines communicated by your Residence Director, Apartment/House GRA, and/or the Residence Life Office. All storage information can be found on the website. Students who are deferring enrollment for the fall semester and are currently living in campus apartments, or campus houses must store their items in a designated storage room in Michigan Apartments. An email was sent from Residence Life on March 26 with specific instructions. Students living in apartments must store items in plastic bins. Need some local off-campus storage options? Before finals week please place usable items into a sealed garbage bag(s) and deliver to Corinthian Co-Op, located in the basement of 818 College Ave Apartments During finals week you may take donations to designated Residence Hall/Apartment locations anytime or to the Co-op during their open hours below. Seniors may donate items on Monday and Tuesday after graduation 10am-noon, 2-4pm, 7-9pm. Apartments and houses can place donated items for the Co-Op in the laundry rooms of Terrace, Saint-Elliot, and Michigan Crescent. Reminder of co-op hours for the last week of classes, April 24th- 27th. Mon 1-3pm, Tuesday 10:00-noon, Wednesday 3-5pm, Thursday 11:30-12:30, 3-5pm. Exam week hours for donations only, will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (May 4-6th) 10am-noon, 2-4pm. Thursday, April 27th (see hours above) will be the last day to “shop” for free items from Corinthian Co-Op. Bikes left behind will be donated Bicycles may not be stored outside on a Wheaton College bike rack over the summer. Locks on unclaimed bikes outside will be cut beginning Monday, May 15. Electronic donations E- Scrap will receive electronic donations the lobbies of McManis-Evans, Williston, Fischer, and Smith-Traber by Tuesday, May 9 by noon. No TVs or Broken Fridges will be accepted. Waste disposal & Recycling Large dumpsters will be delivered to campus for waste disposal beginning Friday, April 28th. Don’t throw these items out in the dumpsters next to your building: refrigerators, batteries, electronics, TVs, bicycles, couches, stuffed chairs, other large items, and toxic chemicals like oil, paint, etc. Working refrigerators can be donated in the lobbies of Fischer, Smith-Traber, McManis-Evans and Williston. Furniture Storage, donations &disposal You must store, donate or dispose of your couch(es) and/or stuffed chair(s) on or before 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29th or you will be issued a $75 fine, unless you have a plan to store your couch. Personal furniture may not be stored in your campus storage unit. Students will be fined $50 for disposing of your couch in the dumpster next to your buildings. If you do not have a place to store your couch, chair, or coffee table contact us by sending an e-mail to [email protected] on or before Wed, April 26th to reserve a spot in storage. Space is limited. Couches and chairs will NOT be stored without a reservation. We will NOT store any furniture that has been in a room that has bed bugs or bed bug treatments this year. Securely tape a label with your name and phone number on ALL furniture. Please remember that you will need to provide your own transportation and movers. All money will be used to support Wheaton A Rocha (A Stewardship Club). Payment is due the day you drop off your couches. You may donate a couch in good condition for free. ○ $20 for a three person couch ○ $10 for a coffee table ○ $15 for a love seat/small couch/chair We will store a limited number of pre-registered three person couches, love seats/chairs, and coffee tables in the Crescent Apartment Basement on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Furniture can be picked up at the Crescent Apartment Basement on Tuesday, August 22nd from 2-5pm or Saturday, August 26th from 10 – 1 p.m. Unclaimed furniture will be sold from 1-2 p.m. *If you are planning on being out of town for Labor Day weekend, please make sure you pick up your belongings on Tuesday. Furniture that needs to be trashed! If you need to throw out your couch we will have a dumpster behind Jenks Hall, just south of Smith-Traber in the parking lot.
