CPS-3000 Ultradeepwater Cementing Package Designed and built for the most demanding deepwater operations in the world Applications Mixing and pumping of cement slurries in deepwater applications ■ High pressure pumping and testing operations ■ Precision pumping for integrity tests ■ Features and benefits High hhp to allow for metered displacements and completion pumping operations ■ Increased mixing rate capability to minimize job time ■ Accurate control of slurry density to achieve desired properties ■ Complete redundancy of systems ■ The CPS-3000 ultradeepwater cementing package was designed and built to provide the highest degree of accuracy and reliability in the most challenging deepwater environments. Performance expectations are extreme for cementing units onboard ultradeepwater drillships and semisubmersibles. Rig spread rates are high and every opportunity to impact the bottom line must be taken. Hydraulic horsepower requirements are also high to allow displacement by the unit for improved accuracy and to allow required completion operations. Maximum cement mixing rates and downhole pump rates are critical to improve overall rig efficiency and save valuable rig time. The integrated ability to batch mix and pump LCM pills, spacers, and other fluids with the unit is essential. Liquid additive metering and injection systems must provide accurate and continuous mixing at demanding rates. Reliable automation for process control of the operation is key to achieving overall service excellence. The CPS-3000 was designed and built to exceed all these requirements. This unit is a 3,450-hhp unit, which is capable of pumping 26 bbl/min at pressures up to 15,000 psi (18k psi with a high-pressure manifold). The mixing package comprises dual Mark III Slurry Chiefs with averaging tanks capable of 22 bbl/min rates for lead slurries and 15 bbl/min rates for standard tail systems. Twin 100-bbl batch mixers can be integrated for spacer or pill mixing, which is isolated from contamination points. A high-rate, process-controlled, direct-injection liquid additive system provides the ability to accurately meter up to 7 chemicals into the mix water stream. Two complete process control units handle data acquisition and control for redundancy and reliability of automated cement mixing, solids fraction monitoring, foam process control, and liquid additive system.
