Very busy! It’s field trip and track season. There are swimming lessons and bowling trips. We have classes gardening and others off to the public library. There is the small matter of a whole-school musical at the Port Theatre and somewhere in there we need to plan for bringing this year to a close and beginning a brand new one next September with all these great kids in the right place. With all that said we ask that you please stay in touch and keep a close eye on the school calendar. We will always update you with any changes or new events. All class trips and special days will be publicized as much as we can. You can help support your child and his/her teacher during the next two busy months by simply visiting our school website. Well done everyone and thank you to the organizers and volunteers. SCIENCE MONTH Back by popular demand, June will be Science month in the library. Students will be able to get down and dirty with science each week in June. All science experiences will be quick and simple projects the students can do at home during the summer and require ingredients found in most homes and kitchens. Mme Sullivan wishes to make science fun and engaging to all students from K-7 to promote an interest in engineering and natural sciences. Currently, fewer students are enrolling in university science programs and this trend is creating a skills shortage in Canada. HEALTHY EATING THIS MONTH This "frittata" was a hit today in Mme. Zoe’s class; the kids enjoyed and ate the whole tray. We have eaten 520 pieces of a fruit, veggie or protein for the month of April! Our count last month was 498 pieces. We are trying to up the amounts every month. I am so very proud of the children and their parents, as they have jumped on board with my program right away. Keep up the good work and eating habits.
