See Gone With the Wind in Harrodsburg
The book was written over 80 years ago; the movie filmed over 75 years ago – yet Gone with the
Wind remains one of the most enduring and beloved stories of all time. For its spring
production, Harrodsburg’s award-winning Ragged Edge Community Theatre takes an
affectionate look at David O. Selznic, the legendary producer of one of filmdom’s true classics,
in “Moonlight and Magnolias.” The show, called “a Hollywood dream-factory farce,“ takes
place April 21-23 and 28-30.
As 1939 Hollywood buzzes with Gone With the Wind fever, Selznick shuts down production on
his Civil War epic because the screenplay simply doesn’t work. What follows is a behindclosed-doors over-the-top comedy as the movie’s producer, formidable director and famous
screenwriter hash out a screenplay over five days and on a diet of peanuts and bananas for the
movie that would earn 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best
Screenplay. 859/734-2389, www.RaggedEdgeTheatre.org
