Dancing to the Music of
In 1984, a group of Ft. Smith, Arkansas musicians
met to play music and enjoy life. Many of them
were professional road musicians in the 60’s
and 70’s who just wanted to play music for fun;
it would be their musical semi-retirement. Today
that group has evolved into the mid-south’s
favorite party band and most unique musical
experience. The Cabbageheads perform nearly
100 times per year and are featured at many
large civic and corporate events. Tonight we will
be honored with a special treat as our own

was an active member of our Board of Directors
from 2003 to 2009, providing leadership in
Finance, Fund Raising and Public Relations. Lisa
co–chaired Toyland Ball 2008 and laid the
foundation for its growing success. Lisa has also
been instrumental in introducing the agency to
numerous others who now support our work
and help us meet greater community needs.
Lisa and her husband, Steve, are members of
the Circle of Hope Society and, in 2012, they
presented the Circle of Hope Leadership Gift,
inspiring others to join them in supporting the

Kurt twice has been part of the James Beard
House Foundation’s (NYC) Great Regional Chefs
Program, a two–time finalist in the American
Culinary Gold Cup Competition, has won the
Taste of Excellence award sponsored by the
Oklahoma Pork Producers, and has twice been
featured as Guest Chef at OSU’s Hotel &
Restaurant School. He has appeared at Disney
World, has collaborated on the Epcot Food and
Wine Festival, and has demonstrated in the
Better Homes & Gardens’ test kitchen. Kurt has
written and appeared in 26 episodes of The
Oklahoma Kitchen, and has filmed dozens of
commercials for the Made in Oklahoma (MIA)
Coalition. His most recent over–the–top effort
was “Culinaire for a Cause,” a mind-boggling
100–course dinner, benefitting the Regional Food
Bank of Oklahoma.
Not content to restrict sharing of his talents to
only the USA, Kurt has traveled to Tuscany to
host a special group culinary experience, to The
Hague for cooking demonstrations, to Munich
