Daughters of Destiny(D0D) Overview
We are honored to obey the Word of God, which says “let the elder
women teach the younger women” (Titus 2:3-5). Our goal is to
empower young women 13 to 18 years old to be successful,
professional, and productive citizens, obtaining wealth while walking
in the wisdom of God. Our purpose is to impart Godly principles so
that our young ladies will become effective witnesses as they
maintain a committed lifestyle, thus, discovering the power of God to
transform lives and declare a generation that will change the world.
• Initially began under the direction of Lady Ollie Reeves and the Women
of Excellence Ministry in September 2011
• Components: Monthly sessions, events, community service,
book/reading engagement and weekly contacts with mentors.
• 25 young ladies have participated in DoD since inception 2011
• Previous and current mentors continue to be a resource for former
DoDs: provide recommendations for colleges/internships; career
advice; networking opportunities and host of other things
• We held our 1st Debutante Ball Sept. 21, 2013 at Fredericksburg Expo
Center
• 90% of former DoDs are attending college!
• Several DoDs have returned to assist as Junior Mentors.
