The Boone Mission Team is once again asking you to participate in a clothing drive for approximately 175 pastors and
their families in El Salvador. Clothes should be clean, with no stains or rips. They should be for all ages, adults and
children. We do not want heavy winter clothes, but can use sweaters & light jackets, along with summer clothes.
Underwear (new) and gently worn shoes are also needed-no high heels, please. There will be marked boxes available
downstairs in the Collection Center. These clothes will be delivered to El Salvador along with the Samaritan’s Purse
Christmas shoe boxes. The deadline for donating these clothes is October 26, 2012. Call Bill Bailey, 282-3270, if you
have questions.

On November 10 enjoy a LBC bus trip to Charlotte to visit the Billy Graham Library and Museum. Enjoy lunch and the
matinee production at NarroWay Theatre in Ft. Mill, SC for “The Real Christmas Story.” NarroWay is called the
Broadway of Christian entertainment. Our visit will include a stop at Concord Mills. The trip cost is $47 each and will
include admission fees, lunch, and transportation. We will depart at 7:30 and return around 8:30 pm. Register with
Katy in the church office. Full payment is due at time of registration. Arvil Pennington is coordinating this trip.
Beginning October 12, a new Bible Study for ladies will begin meeting on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. in Room 236 (off the
CLC). The study is entitled “Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted” by Priscilla Shirer. Candace Harrison will be leading
the study. Books can be purchased at Lifeway for $12.75. Contact Candace at 621-2884 for more information.
In 1993, a church in Charlotte collected 28,000 shoe box gift for war torn Bosnia. That’s how it all began. Since
then, more than 94 million gift-filled shoe boxes have been collected. This year we are trusting God that
Samaritan’s Purse will surpass 100 million gift boxes. Make sure your gift is part of that 100 million! Pick up a
brochure from the display in the lobby this Sunday. Please follow the instructions carefully. Return the shoe box
to the same location by November 11.
