immersive program designed to enhance the
leadership skills of professionals working in

higher education in South Africa. It is an outstanding

POPI
The inauguration of the POPI SIG was held on 1819 March 2014 at University of Pretoria. Several
presentations and discussions were held by Mobius
Consulting and Gartner. A Prioritised list of focus
areas of this SIG includes:

Disaster Recovery
The ASAUDIT Disaster Recovery SIG held its first
workshop on 5 May 2014. The workshop was
successfully conducted online using Adobe Connect
and was hosted by the Disaster Recovery SIG
convenors, Paul Tennant and Liezel Ijambo from the
Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Presentations from three universities were made on
their DR and the group discussed topics covering
the challenges faced relating to DR within Higher
Education and the way forward for the SIG. Please

Business Systems
Architecture
The inaugural meeting of the Business Systems
Architecture SIG was held on 30 May at University
of the Western Cape. Representatives from UWC,
UCT, SUN, CPUT and UFS attended where very
useful information was discussed and the outcome
will be posted on the website soon.
