Tim is a serial entrepreneur who has created several successful companies over the last
25 years, taking one of them public and selling four others to tech giants like Microsoft,
Apple, and Dell for over $1B. His expertise lies in consumer media products, cloud
services and e-Commerce. Tim may be the only person in history who has served in
executive roles for Bill Gates , Steve Jobs and Michael Dell. Inspired by these leaders, Tim
has learned the importance of innovation and how to expand businesses .
Prior to TastingRoom.com, Tim founded and severed as a CEO of ZING Systems, a
company that developed software for a range of handheld wireless media devices for
companies such as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Yahoo!, and Sandisk. In 2007, ZING was
bought by Dell, Inc. where Tim served as Vice President of Consumer Content Solutions
and Entertainment Software. Before ZING Systems, Tim served as a Senior Vice President
of Macintosh Engineering at Apple Computer overseeing the development of many
iconic Macintosh products and iPod technologies. Tim has also been Vice President of
Consumer Products for Microsoft.
Tim holds numerous patents in networking technology, computer design, graphics,
manufacturing processes, and multimedia technology. He received his Bachelors of
Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California Davis
and received his Masters degree in Computer Architecture from Stanford in 1988.
Tim splits time between Silicon valley and Sonoma Country where, in addition to his
efforts on TastingRoom.com, Tim also serves as President of Trattore Wines, a winery
and vineyard operation he founded in 1998, plus President of Dry Creek Olive Company,
an award-winning olive company he founded over a decade ago.
