During the last week of January, Big Sky Medical
Center’s inaugural “friends” group came together for
its first meeting. This small, but passionate group of
volunteers will help to lead fundraising and friend raising
efforts in support of Montana’s first truly new hospital
in more than forty years. Members of the group include
Ginna Hermann, Martha Johnson, Robin Stephenson,
Steve Stephenson, Dr. Bob Thompson and Mary Grace
Wilkus. With more than $3 million in charitable gifts
and pledges having already been received, the group
is excited about expanding our network of founding
supporters. All six members are ready and willing to
provide tours of Big Sky Medical Center to those who
may be interested in supporting this amazing facility
and its programs.
HOSPITALITY 2016 THEME
ANNOUNCEMENT
TELEMEDCINE AT BOZEMAN HEALTH
Hospitality 2016: A Garden Party, Planting Seeds for the Future
will take place on April 30, 2016 from 6pm to 11pm in the
MSU Strand Union Building ballrooms. The evening will
feature a gourmet catered dinner, one-of-a-kind silent and
live auction items, music and dancing. Dress appropriate to
the garden party theme or business attire is suggested.
Proceeds from Hospitality 2015 supported Telemedicine at
Bozeman Health. As we serve new patients in Big Sky, Belgrade,
Ennis, and beyond, telemedicine will play a vital role in lowering
barriers for patients to receive the expert medical treatment,
monitoring and emergency support.
Proceeds will support the expansion of Bozeman Health
Deaconess Hospital’s Special Care Nursery. With help from
the community and our generous sponsors we will secure
vital equipment and expand by 20% the capacity of our
special care nursery. This, in turn, will enable us to increase
the already high quality of support we provide to babies in
need. This includes three new GE Giraffe OmniBeds, one of
which will be equipped with vital resuscitation components.
These high-tech beds combine the features of a
state-of-the-art incubator and a radiant warmer. In an
effort to update additional equipment, we’ll also provide
the special care nursery with two new GE Isolettes. Call us
today to inquire about the event, to donate an auction item
and to reserve your seat 414-1085. If you cannot attend
but would like to support Hospitality and the Special Care
Nursery contact us to make a contribution or learn more
about opportunities to contribute to the Live Drive!
“Telemedicine is one of the technological advances that is
drastically changing the future of healthcare delivery, particularly
in rural and underserved areas. Here in Bozeman, we now have the
ability to provide world class stroke care 24/7/365, due in part, to
telemedicine. This addition allows access to high quality medicine,
while keeping costs down and creating a more convenient delivery
of care for the patients in our community. It is helping to advance
our mission.” David Chen, MD, Interim Dyad President & CEO,
Chief Medical Officer.
Private funding has helped leading doctors and nurses to
provide real-time, interactive, encrypted patient care using
modern videoconferencing technology that connects us to
them in their local clinics or homes. And when it’s needed
most, expanded telemedicine programs also allow our doctors
and nurses -- together with their patients -- to access medical
expertise available at some of our nation’s most highly regarded
medical centers.
