Little Camp 2016 - Mon Valley YMCA

Little Camp 2016
1. Curious Monkey Business (June 13-17)
Help Curious George solve problems using things you already know. We
will all have fun playing with our new monkey sock puppets and painting with
“Scratch and Sniff” paint. “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” needs your help
deciding what he should eat next. How about a few games like “Don't Pop It”,
“Monkey See, Monkey Do” and “Barrel of Monkeys”. Help George collect all
the bananas lost at camp. Don't forget to wear your handmade
“I am curious” t-shirt on Friday!
2. Captain Jake Saves Mermaid Lagoon (June 20-24)
Someone has stolen all of the mermaids' pearls. Captain Jake believes it must
be Captain Hook's pirates. Without the pearls the mermaids will lose their
lagoon. It looks like Jake will have to compete with Captain Hook’s men in a
ship race, sword fight and “Hook the Treasure” game. Then it will be time to
hunt for the hidden pearls. We will all take home a treasure shell, a glittery
fish and a telescope. Don't forget to take home your treasure box!
3. Scooby Doo is Back! (June 27-July 1)
Someone has stolen all the scooby snacks! Can you find them? Join
Scooby and the gang on another scary, super fun mystery. Scooby and his
friends are ready to play a little “Zombie Tag”, do a “Mummy Wrap” and solve
this mystery! We will make “Ghost Holders” that glow in the dark and lovely
spider bracelets. I think the Scooby snacks may be hidden in the Creepy
Castle! As long as we bring food to “Feed the Monsters” everyone will have a
great time. We will be making our own Scooby snacks for a treat.
Scooby is counting on us!
4. A Frozen Adventure (July 11-15)
Olaf is ready to take us on an exciting adventure to visit an ice castle,
make some frozen soup and see the Rock Trolls. We will have fun playing with
snow dough, ice painting and having a snowball fight. Help unfreeze Anna's
“Frozen Heart” in a special relay game. Continue the fun at home with your
own characters from “Frozen” including Olaf and a Rock Troll. I can't wait to
see what’s at the end of our clue hunt! This is the week to “Let It Go”!
5. Dinosaurs and Nature Trackers (July 18-22)
Learn about becoming a Nature Tracker like Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don
of the “Dinosaur Train”. We will complete the 4 challenges needed to become
a real “Nature Tracker” while we have fun with dinosaurs! Part or our
challenges will be to find animal tracks and learn about conservation. We will
find dinosaur bones and put them together just like Paleontologists! We will all
take home fossils, a painted “Dino magnet” and a sun-catcher with things we
find in the woods. Playing in “Clean Mud” will be so much fun! How about
some Dino cookies for a snack? Don't forget to wear home your
“Nature Trackers” bandana!
6. Tomorrow Land Space Adventure (July 25-29)
Ready, set, blast off! Join the fun in this star packed space adventure.
How fast can you go in your jet packs? How about a space ship race around the
playground? We will learn about the surface of the moon. Let’s see your skills
on the “Astronaut Training” course. We can do a little “Planet Hopping” and
have fun in the “Asteroid Belt” of balloons. We can't forget to gather Miles
and his friends to help us launch our rocket cups! This camp is out of this
world, with pictures to prove it!
7. Welcome to Bikini Bottom (August 1-5)
Join Spongebob and his friend Patrick as they foil Planktons plan to get the
Krabby Patty recipe. Mr. Krabs wants to share his recipe with the campers this
week. Take home your own krabby patty and floating Patrick! We can soak
Plankton and dive into the money pit. I wonder what we’ll find!
Spongebob needs a break and wants to go home with you. How are you at
pineapple bowling? Patrick will be hanging around to help us do some fishing.
Let's all dive right in! But don't forget your diving suit!
