About The Production
The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe – Rated PG
This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully
recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White
Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old
wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features
chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession
and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are
represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the
slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan's resurrection by Susan and
Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. The supporting characters
are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father
Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage
and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

against his siblings. Edmund joins forces with the White Witch, but eventually sees the
error of his ways and returns to the good side.

happy-go-lucky girl is the first of the children to venture into Narnia.

About Auditioning for A Play
We at Forever After Productions pride ourselves in creating a safe and fun environment
for young students to learn about all the different aspects of theatre. So here are a few
answers to some frequently asked questions along with some tips and suggestions for
auditioning for a play like The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q1. Can auditionees get a copy of the audition scripts before arriving at auditions?
A1. No, all auditionees will receive a copy of the audition script when they arrive at
auditions. Some auditionees may read from different scripts depending on their age and
who else is auditioning with them. All auditionees will get the chance to read at least
twice. Some auditionees may get to read more than twice. Just because a director
doesn’t ask you to read more than twice doesn’t mean they don’t like you that you don’t
have a lead part. It simply means that they do not need to see you read again at that
moment.
Q2. If we can’t get a copy of the audition scripts before arriving at auditions then how do
we prepare for auditions ahead of time?
A2. With plays like The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe the casting panel will
encourage auditionees to be familiar with the story and the charcaters before arriving at
auditions. If the student is able to read the book or see the movie before arriving at
auditions you are encouraged to do so. Both the book and the movie for The Lion The
Witch and The Wardorbe can be found at your local library. For those students not able
to watch the movie or read the book be sure and read through the “About the Show”
portion of the audition packet as well as the “Character” list included on the audition
packet so you can have an understanding of what the story is about and who all the
characters are before arriving at auditions. Auditionees can even ask their parents to go
online and help them search for videos of the play on Youtube.
Q3. I watched the movie and looked up videos online. Should I try to act like the actors
in the videos at my audition?
A3. No, directors do not want auditionees to try and mimic other versions of the play
they might have seen before coming auditions. Watching videos of a similar
performance is great for auditionees get an understanding of the characters and the
storyline but actors are encouraged to be creative and make each character their own at
auditions.
Q4. Will the director pick which character I will be reading for at auditions?
A4. Yes, the director will choose who will be reading for what character at auditions and
callbacks based on who is present. The casting panel will not be able to honor any
requests to read for other characters due to time constraints.
Q5. If I audition, am I guaranteed a part in the play?
A5. Yes, All young students who audition for plays at Forever After Productions are
guaranteed a role. There a many amazing roles for a variety of different performers in
this show and we look forward to putting together an amazing cast!
Tips for Auditioning for a Play:
1. Remember to speak loudly and clearly. We know that everyone is looking at
these scripts for the first time at auditions but auditionees should try to not bury
their head in the page as they read. We want to see your face!
2. It’s ok to mess up! Everyone stumbles on a hard word or gets tongue tied every
once in a while. Just take a deep breath and keep going. We guarantee a
mistake is never as bad as you think it is.
3. Use your space. You don’t need to be glued to one spot during your entire
audition. Auditioness are encouraged to move around and interact with the other
people reading with them in a scene.
4. If the director gives you a note, try and take it. When a director gives you a note
or asks you to try doing something during a scene it doesn’t mean she or he
doesn’t like you, it simply means they want to see you try something different. So
give it try! Even if it isn’t perfect the director will appreciate that you are trying.
5. Be respectful to the other auditionees and the members of the casting panel.
Remember, your audition begins as soon as you walk in the room so be polite
and respectful to everyone there. Remember to say “Thank you” after each
chance you are given to red from the script. Although being kind won’t guarantee
you will get the role you want it will certainly help your chances! Plus it puts
everyone in a good mood.
