Spring is finally here, and I can’t wait to sit outside and feel the warm
sunshine. I want to remind everyone how important is to have a Dirrect Power of Attorney (Medical DPOA) for all family members who
reside at Courtyard Estates. All resident who live in the Gardens are
to have this, and all other residents are recommended to have this as
well in case of a medical decline. If we do not have a
copy of your DPOA please work on acquiring this
asap. Thank you and I hope everyone is enjoying the
warmer weather.

Spring is here and with it comes severe weather.
In the event of a thunderstorm, heavy winds, rain or even a tornado, it is
likely that power may go out. Emergency lights in the hallway will illuminate, however your apartments will be dark. One safety measure for
each of our residents would be to ensure you have a flashlight handy
with fresh batteries. Keep this somewhere you know you can easily
reach in case of such a situation.
Thanks, and be safe!

The Story Writers
You are probably looking for a story, but we
would be remiss if we did not share our
Mystery Dinner Theater on, March 22.
The Squirrelfish Swim
Yet stood the boys aside the river
With poles held taut and bait aquiver
And rolling clouds of mystic steam,
Beneath their feet the grass grows green,
The green grass grows; upon which
Grows the grass of green
So’s not to be stepped sight unseen.
Oh where the blue boys plopped their
bobbers
Left behind no flop of footwear, seen as soon
their sad despair
No colors found within the daubers
Despite the pails and wails of scales
That stop my heart; unfurl my hair.
I know not where; I was not there.
If you are thinking, Poe wrote this strange
poem? Really?
No, we made it
up. This poem
and a painting
were used as
the basis of our Mystery Dinner Theater:
“The tale of the Edgar Allan Letters.”
Desmond Edgar Jones, a most despicable
man, a cad, a liar, a thief and not very nice
owned “The Horse You Rode In On” Saloon
He claimed to have found an unpublished
manuscript and painting of Poe’s and he
invited guests to have it authenticated
But 6 guests and his chef did not like him
and had other ideas…..
The cast
couldn’t
have
been
better.
The
winner
of the
evening
as the
biggest
ham
happened to
be
Porky
Parrish.
We also have the movie on DVD (which
is pretty good) and if you want a copy,
contact Sue Comito. They are $5.00
each so she can purchase more DVD’s.
Since this production was so fun and
we are making plans for another play
with ideas flying everywhere.
We do want to give Wally, Chris, Porky,
Jessyca, Bill, Keith, Jenn, April, Denis,
and Michele who agreed to participate a
big thank you!

A word from Life Enrichment
With some small signs of spring starting to show, I’m waiting for just a little more warmth with a
Little less wind, then I’ll be able to get our residents out to our gardens to get started.
We are all really looking forward to some good outside time this summer. So if we choose to play
games, grill out or just have some quiet time to read a book our surroundings will be more
“Courtyard” and Park like.
April 22nd is Earth Day Cross Point Church will be helping us plant any trees or bushes that we
have bought by then with our funds from our bird houses, family meals and memorial money.
