Jade Beckman
Patient Advocate at
Reid Health
During a presentation given to Reid Health billing coders, a hospital staff member praised
Jade Beckman and Robin Ritchie for all the help they provide to the patients. Great to hear
the billing department recognize the work we are doing!
Tammy Loy, SSI/DI Attorney – Tammy received a thank you note from a client
after her SSA hearing stating she loved Tammy as a friend and true advocate for
her. Beth Overmyer also received a call from one of Tammy’s former clients
who wanted to report that he has been sober for 3 years and greatly
appreciates the help Tammy and ClaimAid gave him. Although SSA denied this
client’s case, he is still so appreciative as his health has turned around.
Many people believe the X symbol
became synonymous with the kiss
in medieval times. People who
couldn't write their names signed
in front of a witness with an X. The
X was then kissed to show their
sincerity.

 What is the first
thing you would buy if you
won the lottery? Besides paying
off student loans, I would buy a modest
house, a dream car and a new wardrobe! Oh, and pay
off my mom’s house.
 What motivates you to work hard? Well, a paycheck
motivates me to work. What motivates me to work HARD is
encouragement, positive feedback, and consistent feedback,
even if it isn’t the most positive. Also, it motivates me to work
hard when I know that what I say is heard and valued.
 What would you sing at Karaoke night? “My Song” sung by
the cast of the show Nashville. This is a sample of the lyrics,
“Don't tell me I can't sing this song. Don't tell me that I've got
it wrong. Cause this is where I belong. Don't try to change my
melody or make me dance a different beat. Cause this is
where I belong.”
 Please tell me about your family. I am an oldest child and
have a brother who is 3 years younger than me. My parents
were married until my father passed away in 2002. My mom is
the HARDEST working person I have ever met. She is my hero.

Color - Tiffany Blue. It is the perfect accent to anything!
Food - Specifically, BBQ Fritos are my favorite (I can only find them a
few times a year. For some reason Fritos is very stingy about
when they have them in stock ). I like pizza, a good burger, and
Texas Roadhouse.
Book – Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling, The Kite Runner by Khaled
Hosseini, and The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst
Movie - Goodwill Hunting, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Notting Hill
Music – I have been listening almost exclusively to the Hamilton: An
American Musical Original Broadway Cast Recording
soundtrack for a year, and I don’t see that changing any time
soon. It is AMAZING. If you haven’t listened to it, what are you
even doing with your life?!
Sport - I don’t sport.
TV show – The West Wing is hands down the best show EVER created.
Holiday - I don’t really have a favorite Holiday so I will be cliché and say
Christmas.

 What is your most
overused word or phrase?
“Really?”
 Which superhuman power do you wish you
had and why? The ability to heal. I would love for not
one person to ever have to suffer from any disease
ever again.
 Where is your favorite place to be and why is that your
favorite? Camping. It doesn’t really matter where we camp. I
just love “unplugging” and spending time with family and
friends.
 Please tell me about your family. I am married to my best
friend, Steve. Together we have four children ranging in age
from 16 to 26. We have a four year old granddaughter and a
granddaughter due in about six weeks. We are blessed beyond
what we deserve.

Color – Periwinkle
Food - Sushi
Book – I don’t read as much as I should these days, but I love to read
anything my granddaughter wants to snuggle up and read.
Movie – My all-time favorite movie is Gone With the Wind or my second
favorite is Uncle Buck. Two totally different ends of the
spectrum.
Music – I love rock and roll music and even some “big hair bands.” After
all, I graduated from high school in the 80s! I’m not a huge fan
of country.
Sport – I am an avid Football fan. NFL -I’m a Colts fan; but my true love is
Notre Dame College Football. Love me some Irish!
TV show - Steve and I love to antique shop, so I love to watch Antiques
Road Show. My next favorite is the Big Bang Theory.
Holiday - I love Christmas. Our kids all come home on Christmas Eve. We
play cards, games, watch Christmas movies and hang out like
we did when they were small. There is just something about
waking up Christmas morning and having everyone home.
After presents, we have a huge family breakfast. Our table has
grown over the years, but we just keep adding chairs.
