The Wicked Ones: Hans and Greta
Hans and Greta didn’t know what the day was going to bring, but they had to be prepared for it.
Everyone knew who they were, they were the terror-some, trouble-some twins, or TTT for short. They
always caused peril around the town, whether it was scary little children, or accosting little old ladies.
But in all reality, witches were the real target. Somehow witches kept on disappearing throughout
Witchway, but no one really thought of it. Who would care of an old hag causing trouble and one day
just disappears? Not any one in Witchway; but for Hans and Greta, it wasn’t enough for one witch to
disappear; they wanted all of the witches gone.
No one could really blame them, though, after what happened seven years previously. It was
the spring of 2004, everyone in Hans and Greta’s house were singing and dancing, nothing unordinary in
the town. But what was to come shocked everyone in Witchway; no one could forget what had
happened.
No one knew a witch was in the house, and once she approached them, it was too late. The
family was just another innocent victim among the ghastly crimes she had committed. Glenda, the
witch, turned their parents into a variety of sweets. The children were forced to bake their parents, and
once they tasted such the divine sweets, they could never go back. Eating their parents wasn’t enough,
though; they had to have more. Hans and Greta stuffed the witch into the oven, and she turned into
gooey, chocolate chip cookies. They devoured her within minutes.
No one knew what happened to Glenda, but they weren’t complaining. The weird and
wonderful thing was, witches kept vanishing, vanishing into thin air.
Hans and Greta were farther and farther in the woods.
“Hans, do you smell what I smell?” A putrid odor filled the air. His eyes narrowed and he had an
insidious smile on his face.
“Yes, Greta, I do.” Greta’s heart began to be faster and faster, up to the point where she
thought it was going to stop. A wicked smile appeared on her face, as they inched closer and closer to
the gingerbread house. Their mouths drooled, and their eyes lit up. They knew what lived there.
They came close to the graham cracker door, and devoured the door in seconds. Next, they
stepped through and noticed more graham crackers, but decided to eat the gum drops first. Hans tried
to eat the graham cracker walls- but Greta hindered him from doing so.
“Hans, control yourself- we have plenty of time to finish off the house. Hans, you know why we
came here.” She whispered.
A green skinned woman came through the kitchen door, and a ingenuous smile appeared on her
face.
“Why hello, are you all hungry?” Hans and Greta stared hard at her, and the witch had a
befuddled look on her face.
“You are Glenda’s sister, now we must kill you.” The witch shook her head and slowly backed
away from them.
“I’m sorry of what my sister did, but I am nothing like her. I am a good witch, I only help the
Earth, and I heal people. Look, my sister disappeared long ago, I always strongly disliked her.” Hans and
Greta would not listen. Greta lunged towards her while Hans opened the oven door.
“Goodbye Elfaba, by the way, we ate your sister; she tasted the best.” They threw the witch into
the oven and shut the door. Once she was baked, the seventeen year old were disappointed. Instead of
her turning into divine chocolate chip cookies, the most beautiful ruby slipper came out instead.
“Well, at least we have the rest of the house to eat.” Greta put on the ruby slippers, and her skin
turned to a green pigment. Hans could not believe his eyes. He hated the thoughts that rushed through
his head, but he had to do it.
He shoved Greta into the oven, and left her there.
“Goodbye beloved sister.” And with that, Hans lost his appetite and ran on home, where he had
never felt so alone.
