The Censer
When we go to church, the Priest uses a censer to bless us and the icons.
The censer has incense in it. This incense comes from trees and when it
burns it makes smoke that smells nice. This reminds us when the Three
Wise Men brought frankincense to Baby Jesus. The smoke goes up to
heaven just like our prayers.
• The ring reminds us of God.
• The top means the beginning “Alpha”.
• The 4 chains remind us of the 4 evangelists.
• The 12 bells remind us of the 12 Apostles.

“And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden
censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should
offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the Golden Altar which
was before the throne of God; and the smoke of the incense which
came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of
the angel’s hand. Revelation 8:3-4
