Make light switch covers for your bedroom or other
rooms in the house (with your parents’ or siblings’
permission, of course).
Make a list of your favorite meals and illustrate them!
Orc - Mummy - Dracula Tag: Choose a safe “den” area.
Divide into 2 teams. Each team picks one of 3 creatures
(Orc, Mummy, or Dracula). “Leader” yells out a creature
name. The Orcs chase the Mummies, Mummies chase
the Draculas, and Draculas chase the Orcs. Run to
your “den”!
Try to come up with as many smaller words as you can
out of your name (use your full name - first, middle, and
last!). Challenge your friends or parents to see who can

foot! Remember to hold the paper with one foot and
draw/write with the other.
Make a gift certificate for something you can make or do
together to give someone as a gift. Examples: Good for
breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day, or for a bike ride to the
park for your sister’s birthday.
Make your own puzzle by drawing a picture or design on
paper and then cutting it into puzzle pieces. Have
someone else try to put it together!
Walk to the park or playground with an adult or
older sibling.
Play “Capture the Flag”.
On small slips of paper, write fortunes (like the ones you
get in fortune cookies), and put one under each family
member’s plate at dinner or breakfast.
Make up some jokes or riddles, write them down, and tell
your friends and family.
Put together a puzzle.
Make a bookmark that relates to the book you are
reading right now.
Cut pictures of people’s heads from old magazines or
newspapers, glue them to a piece of paper, and then
draw on a wacky body. Or cut out the body and draw on
the head.
Make your own mailbox by decorating an old box. Use
your imagination, and design it using markers, crayons,
paints, magazines, sequins, buttons, etc. Make sure to
cut a slot so that people can easily deliver notes
or messages.
Write and illustrate your own comic strip.
Make a picture storybook for a younger sibling, neighbor
or relative.
See how long you can bounce a tennis ball on a tennis
racket without it touching the ground.
Write a letter to your favorite athlete or author telling
them why/how they inspire you.
Take a favorite story and write a new ending to it.
Challenge a friend to a Hula Contest! Count how many
hulas you can hoop!
Make a birthday or holiday card for someone
(you can always save it!).
Build a snow creature.
Teach a friend or sibling your favorite / best dance or
sport move. Be patient, and work with them until they
can do it well!
Write a poem by writing your name down on a piece of
paper and writing an activity word across, using each
letter in your name. Then do each activity!

Make up a “Quidditch” game like the one in Harry Potter
- you will have to adapt it to be played on the ground!
Invent something!
Make a calendar for this month with your photos or
drawings. Include holidays, days off from school, and

Open an atlas or spin a globe. See where your finger
lands - how would you get there? What and who would
you want to bring with you?
Learn the rules for a sport from another country, such as
cricket, rugby, judo, or fencing.
Make a frame to go around the TV or computer monitor.
You could also make a removable design that covers up
the screen when it is not on.
Play 20 questions with a friend: Either think of a person
that others have to guess or look at something in the
room. Others will ask yes or no questions that you will
answer. Try to stump them so that they can’t guess
within 20 questions.
Choreograph a dance, alone or with a friend. Then put
on a performance!
Make a totem pole that shows something about yourself
or your family by cutting an egg carton into two long
strips of 6 cups each, and decorate them using
construction paper, buttons, feathers, leaves, Popsicle
sticks, cotton balls, or anything else!
Watch the clouds and draw, paint, or write a story
about them.
Make up new rules to your favorite games or games you
haven’t played in a while, like Red Light, Green Light,
Hide and Seek, Pickle in the Middle, or Hopscotch.
Write a letter to a relative (grandparents, aunts, uncles,
cousins, etc.)
Go sledding or skating!
Create a house band by taking everyday household
items that can make noise and “playing” them with your
siblings or friends (make sure to check with your
parent[s] first).

for you.
