As a respected and highly recommended advocate for IP rights, he has successfully
represented and continues to represent leading international companies regarding a
broad range of IP related matters. He has worked closely with Vietnamese government
authorities to vigilantly enforce IP rights and obtain an IP registration in Vietnam for a
new and highly contentious drug manufacturing technique. He has also been called
upon by the Vietnamese Government to help review and revise the country's IP Law
and the Criminal Code's IP provisions.
In addition to authoring several publications, Mr. Tran has given speeches on various
aspects of IP matters in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Austria, U.K., and the US. He
speaks regularly at IP/franchising workshops and seminars and lectures to law students
on lawyering skills at Hanoi Law University, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Hanoi
Foreign Trade University, and the MBA Program for CFVG. He was also the Chairman

Mr. Tran has been ranked as the Strongly Recommended IP Lawyer by Global3000,

Mr. Tran has been practicing law in Vietnam since he graduated from Hanoi Law
University in 1995 with an LL.B. in Economic Law. In 2000 he received his LL.M. in

Minh Tri Quach is a seasoned Intellectual Property attorney with more than thirteen
years of experience. He specializes in contentious IP matters including commercial and
IP litigation and IP enforcement. Mr. Quach is well renowned for his practical expertise,
and has published articles in Asia Law & Practice and other major publications in
Japan. He also specializes in employment, privacy, internet, and information technology
law. Mr. Quach started his legal career in Vietnam in 2006, and has acted as an IP
agent at the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam since 2004.

Kieu Hoa Tran has been practising Intellectual Property law since 2004, and is a
licensed practitioner at the National Office of Intellectual Property. Ms. Tran has
practical work experience and expertise in both contentious and non-contentious IP
matters. Prior to joining BMVN, she worked as an Intern and Associate with the
Trademark Unit at Baker & McKenzie London. Ms. Tran mainly handles contentious IP
matters including infringement, unfair competition, domain name dispute, and copyright.

Ms. Tran has been licensed to practice law in Vietnam since 2008. She graduated from
Hanoi Law University before attending Queen Mary University of London where she
received an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law. She speaks fluent English in addition to

Hai Hoang Nguyen's principal area of practice is contentious intellectual property with a
focus on licensing, franchising, and technology law. He has nine years of experience in
enforcement and unfair competition in Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen acted as senior assistant to
the Head of the Intellectual Property Department at one of the first law firms to
specialize in the field of Intellectual Property in Vietnam. He frequently advises various
top brands in franchising projects in Vietnam and has been involved in a number of
landmark IP cases.

Thanh Thuy Ninh's practice focuses on non-contentious intellectual property. With more
than twelve years of work experience as a trademark attorney, Ms. Ninh has assisted

Myanmar. She worked as the Head of the Trademark Division at a local law firm for
nearly eight years before joining BMVN. Her expertise lies in handling large trademark

My Hanh Trinh has over fifteen years of experience working in Intellectual Property law,
having begun her career at the first local law firm in Vietnam to specialize in the field.
She specializes in trademark searches, IP license agreement reviews, IP license
recordation, and trademark disputes (oppositions, cancellations, and appeal practice).

Viet Hung Le is one of Vietnam’s foremost experts on patent and Intellectual Property
law. Before joining the Firm in 2007, Mr. Le worked as a senior legal expert for the
Legislation Department of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam
(“NOIP”). As a member of Vietnam's Delegation at the WTO, he was instrumental in
negotiating Vietnam’s accession to the WTO regarding IP matters, and he helped draft
Vietnam’s first IP law. Mr. Le’s legal practice covers diverse aspects of patent
prosecution and enforcement, IP law and international treaties, trademark disputes,
parallel imports, unfair competition, licensing and trade secrets in Vietnam. In the realm
of patent law, he represents various multinational pharmaceutical companies in
combatting manufacturers, importers, and distributors of generic products in Vietnam,
as well as leading the Firm’s patent prosecutions at the NOIP.
Mr. Le has been a registered industrial property agent since 2010. He graduated from
Hanoi Polytechnic University, Vietnam in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical
Engineering. He has attended various training courses on intellectual property, such as
Enforcement of Intellectual Property (Tokyo, Japan) and Intellectual Property in the
Global Economy (Stockholm, Sweden). He speaks English in addition to his native
Vietnamese.
Bich Van Do graduated from Hanoi University of Technology (Hanoi Polytechnic
University) where she received a degree in chemical technology. She has been
registered as a Patent Attorney since 2005. Previously, Ms. Do served as a patent
expert for a state-owned IP firm for 9 years. Although her practice specializes in
chemical and pharmaceutical patents, she prosecutes patents in other areas of IP Law,
including mechanics and computers.

International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property ("AIPPI") and the

Quy Hoai Nguyen is a member of the Vietnam Intellectual Property and Dispute
Resolution Practice Group. Mr. Nguyen’s practice includes IP enforcement and
litigation. He has extensive experience with trademark, domain name and copyright
disputes. Additionally, he is experienced in Marine, Property, Construction, and
Financial Disputes. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Nguyen worked as in-house counsel
for a leading insurance company in Vietnam.

Van Trung Khuat's main practice focuses on Dispute Resolution, Labor and
Employment. He coordinates the Firm’s Labor and Employment Law Practice Group
in Vietnam, and is a part of the Firm's Asia Pacific and Global Employment Law

particular focus on labor regulation compliance, employment disputes and litigation,
global migration and executive mobility, employment aspects of major corporate

Mr. Khuat earned an LL.B. from Hanoi Law University in 2008, and an LL.M. from
Vietnam National University in 2013. He has been a member of both the Vietnam
Lawyers’ Association and the Hanoi Bar Association since 2012. Mr. Khuat speaks

Prior to joining the Firm, Nga Nguyen provided legal service support for trademark
registrations, renewals, and amendments as a Legal Specialist for a local law firm. She
is experienced in drafting and reviewing IP licensing and assignments contracts. Ms.
Nguyen also advises on company operational matters.

Mai Linh Le joined the Firm as an intern, and has since become a paralegal. She

opposition, cancellation and appeal proceedings. She also assists the IP enforcement
team in drafting market survey reports and raid reports.

Ha Phuong Nguyen's practices encompass both contentious and non-contentious IP

Nguyen Anh Hieu is an IP enforcement clerk, supporting the Firm's IP Team. Coinciding
with his Vocational IP Course, Mr. Nguyen started his internship at BMVN International
LLC in March 2015. He specializes in market investigation, which includes conducting
on-site surveys and research on infringement matters, in order to compile advisory
reports for clients on appropriate enforcement actions. Mr. Nguyen also works closely
with the Market Management Bureau and other state authorities to verify the
authenticity of products in the market. He is also a member of the products registration
team.

Anh Vu Chu has experience with several contentious and non-contentious IP matters,

Viet Nhan Vu has a decade of experience managing the Global IP Manager (GIPM), a
global web-based docketing system, which allows the Firm to easily monitor patents,
trademarks, industrial designs, licenses and assignments in Vietnam. Her work enables
the IP team to manage large multinational portfolios.
Ms. Vu studied Corporate Management at Van Lang University and Intellectual Property
Law at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. She also completed a Global IP Manager
Course and Intellectual Property course of the NOIP. Ms. Vu holds a B.A. in English and

with an LL.B. in International Trade and Business Law in June 2016. Additionally, Ms.

Nhung Nguyen co-manages the Global IP Manager (GIPM) docketing system and

Van Nam Mac is a Canadian-Vietnamese paralegal and translator. Prior to joining the
Firm in June, 1994, he worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
as a translator/interpreter.
Mr. Mac graduated from Sheridan College and worked in the real estate business in
Canada before resettling in Vietnam. He speaks English in addition to his native
Vietnamese.

Long Hoang works as a Business Development Coordinator and Editor in Baker &
McKenzie's Hanoi Office. He initially joined the Firm as a Billing/Database Administrator.
Mr. Hoang has collaborated with billing attorneys and clients in discharging designated
responsibilities, and he has managed the docketing system to monitor trademark,
industrial designs and patent prosecution in Vietnam. Additionally, Mr. Hoang has
assisted in managing trademark portfolios for several multinational companies.
