Rob Carpenter Bio
Rob has been a Headteacher for over ten years and
has experience of school leadership in a range of
contexts. This includes executive headship and
leadership of school partnerships in the Royal Borough
of Greenwich. Rob’s substantive school, Bannockburn
Primary School in Plumstead, is an outstanding school
and was a national college support school under Rob’s
leadership. Rob is currently the headteacher of
Woodhill Primary School, a school currently in an OFSTED cagetgory of
RI but improving rapidly.
As a National Leader of Education, Rob has supported schools in
challenging circumstances including those in special measures. He is
passionate about school-to-school support and has developed a
range of tools to strengthen the systems leadership of teaching and
learning. All schools supported as part of the project moved from
OFSTED categories of satisfactory to good in less than two years.
In 2012/13, Rob worked with the academy sponsor United Learning as
the Primary Director of Education across the South of England. This
involved working with some of the most vulnerable schools in the
country. Rob still works with schools locally and beyond the London
area and believes he receives more leadership learning than he gives
from developing networks and partnerships.
Currently the Executive Headteacher at Woodhill and Foxfield Primary
Schools, OFSTED reported in December 2013 that:
The headteacher provides highly effective, experienced and inspirational
leadership. His ambition and vision, which are shared by all leaders and the
governing body, are firmly anchored in the relentless and determined drive to
improve pupils’ achievements.
