It is developed and maintained by Oohoo IT Services Inc. Technical Requirements No particular technical requirements. Please do not forget that the plugin is separated into two downloads: filter and block. Plug-in Installation 1. Unzip the contents of the package into the appropriate folders of your Moodle server, i.e. filter/dictionary into the moodle root folder/filter and the blocks/dictionary into the moodle root folder/blocks. 2. Login to your Moodle server as an administrator. In the settings block, navigate to “Site Administration” and click on “Notifications”. This will start the installation process. Click on the “upgrade” button at the bottom of the page. Once the installation is complete, you will be redirected to the Pop-up Dictionary Filter settings page. Only those that have the word being searched within the url will work. E.g. dictionary.com has such a system. If you go to dictionary.com and search for the word Brave, notice the url in the address bar. It should look something like http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Brave?s=t . Luckily, the “?s=t” is not needed. In the settings, do the following: 1. In one of the “Dictionary Name” fields, enter the name of the dictionary that you would like displayed in the selection menu for the teachers (e.g. Dictionary.com) 2. In the “Dictionary URL”, enter the URL for the dictionary search. For the example above, you would enter http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ 3. Save your changes by clicking on the “Save changes” at the bottom of the page. Enable the Pop-up Dictionary filter In order for the Pop-up Dictionary to work, you must first enable the filter. 1.
