Ied a group of New Life members
tracing the very steps of Jesus in
the Holy Land of Israel last month.
As we read the Scriptures, prayed,
sang songs of worship, all of us were
deeply touched by His presence right
from the beginning of our journey on
the shores of the Sea of Galilee to His
final walk to Calvary – Via Dolorosa
– and then shared communion at
the Garden Tomb to mark His burial
and ascension. It was an awesome
experience.
Advisor : Pr. Lawrence Chen | Editor : Ying Lai Hing | Design : Vince Seah
It was here in Galilee that Jesus
first called His Twelve “Come, follow
me and I will make you fishers of
men”. At once they left their nets and
followed him. Matthew 4:19-20. Then
Jesus went through all the towns and
villages, teaching in their synagogues,
preaching the good news of the
kingdom and healing every disease
and sickness. Matthew 9:35.
The Twelve chose to follow Jesus,
gave up their small ambitions,
embraced His call and walked in His
steps. This simple act of obedience to
the Lord had made the most profound
impact – of bringing the Gospel, good
news of salvation and hope – on
the world today. They went out with
the authority and blessing of Jesus.
Matthew 10:1
I am delighted we can do the same
today – to follow in His footsteps
– with the 64 scheduled ‘bless the
nations’ teams this year that are going
to teach and preach, heal the sick in
the name of Jesus. Amen.
Blessings,
Lawrence Chen

In this recent trip, we have agreed to
allow them to use our New Life logo,
explained to them the background
our logo identity, our 3Bs core values
and also help them with some simple
group administration and sharing of
resources for international churches
like design of call cards, use of inhouse New Life training materials
(translated into Hindi/Punjabi), etc.
My next trip is in June 2013 to conduct
Pastors Conference on the Cell
Church. I’d like two cell supervisors/
leaders to come along. Please call
me.
We are so glad this partnership is
growing spiritually and that you as
mission trainers, sponsors and givers
have made this possible. Hallelujah!!
Discipleship Seminar in Punjab
Mission to Punjab from 5-15 Nov 2012
led by Pr Lawrence Chen together
with team members: Chang Lip Yee,
Alex Chin, Chan Lai Keen, Tan Beng
Keong & Vince Seah.
update
Here is the excerpt from Pr Ajit Das:
Your team visit to Punjab was a
blessing for all of us. Every one in
Chandigarh and Punjab said that the
teaching on discipleship was totally
a new concept for every one. The
concept of discipleship conceives
in us from the mother’s womb and
every step brings us a step closer to
God. This has helped every one of
us to understand the importance of
our role step by step in people’s life
to bring them closer to God before
they accept Christ as their Savior
eventually.
Went through these teachings
repeatedly had helped us to know the
concept on discipleship with better
understanding.
Thank you, New Life.

HAPPENINGS
AT TELAGUS,
SARAWAK
Reported by Sister Chang Lip Yee
“And these signs will accompany
those who believe : In my name they
will drive out demons; they will speak
in new tongues…they will place their
hands on sick people, and they will get
well” (Mark 16:17,18)
On 19/1/13, Pr Jeremiah Yap, Pr
Lawrence Chen & I were in NLRC
Telagus, Sarawak for the launch of “The
year of God’s Jubilee”. On that Saturday
night service, we sensed an excitement
and rejoicing among the believers. Old
and young were celebrating together in
songs and dance. Even the infants had
a place. A row of sarongs suspended on
springs and attached to bamboo frames
was set up at the back of the hall.
After the service, Pastor Patrick Rowley
shared some of his recent power
encounters with us.
Lily, a young mother could not walk
for four months and was losing weight
rapidly. She could only crawl and
often vomited. Two months ago, Pr
Patrick prayed for her and she stood up
immediately. Since then, Lily’s health
had improved steadily and she is now
able to attend church service.
Gladys lost her ability to talk. During
a manifestation her tongue was
exceptionally long and hanging out
from her mouth. Four ladies could
not hold her down. Although she was
hospitalized for two months, there was
little improvement. Towards the end of
last year, Uncle Bailin shared the gospel
with her and prayed for healing. She
started crawling. The next day, when
Uncle Bailin visited her again, Gladys
was able to stand up. She cried when
she saw her child. On the third visit,
Gladys walked.
T
A few weeks later, Gladys recovered
her speaking ability and resumed her
farming. On the 13/1/13, she attended
her first church service at New Life,
Telagus.
Pr Patrick was at a Thanksgiving
celebration, where he preached the
gospel and offered to pray for the sick.
He was invited to pray for an Iban man,
Intilie, who had been paralyzed for six
months. Praise God, Intilie recovered
and walked.
Augustine, a Bidayuh, broke his spine.
He could not walk nor feed himself
for two months. After Pr Patrick
ministered to him, Augustine was
healed and shared his testimony with
many people in his village.
While narrating recent miraculous
encounters, Pr Patrick also recollected
his earlier miracle of God’s provision
for his family. He was on a mission trip
to Indonesia and was scheduled to
be away for a week. However, the trip
was extended and Tiara (his wife) was
getting quite concerned. Her funds
were low and their child’s school fee
was due. Furthermore, cooking gas
tank was empty.
testimony
That night Tiara had a dream. She
saw her husband hunting crocodiles
with a rifle. The people around him
told her that they needed Pastor’s help
to continue with the hunt. Tiara felt
comforted by the dream. The next day,
a lady presented Tiara a love offering,
saying that God prompted her to do so.
The love offering of RM50 was more
than enough to cover the expenses of
school fees and cooking gas.
These are indeed exciting times, as
they preached the Gospel signs and
wonders followed, many were added
to the church.

THE
GOLDEN
TRIANGLE
EXPEDITION
A
group of 8 (Pr Jeremiah and
Susan, Pr Lawrence and Lip Yee, Pr
Yee Onn, Pr Jeffrey, Pr Weng Cheong
and Pr Kwan) pastors and their wives
from our New Life churches took
flight on a mission trip to the so called
Golden Triangle (the meeting of Laos,
Myanmar and Thailand).
We left on 28/2/13 to Chiangmai.
Upon arrival at the airport, we were
transported by a van to our first
destination, the orphanage in Mae
Chan.
We arrived quite late at night after
some difficulty locating the orphanage
but were treated to a welcome dinner
of curry chicken (Malaysian style!)
Report by Sister Susan Yap
The Orphanage
A nice, clean, modern building which
houses 20 girls and 3 boys and their
“caretaker parents” - a couple from
East Malaysia. These children have
devotions every morning before
they go to the schools nearby. They
would not have the means nor the
opportunity to go to a school if they
had remained in their villages. They
plant some vegetables and rear a
couple dozens of chickens on this 2.5
acres piece of land. Future plans may
be for more training facilities to train
and equip “labourers” to send out to
the “harvest field” of the Lord.

Visit the Akha Tribe & Pastors
Fellowship
Seminar & Service with Myanmar
Churches
The following day, we visited the Akha
hill tribe of Northern Thailand in their
native village still partly preserved.
In the afternoon, we met up with two
Mandarin speaking pastors in their
respective churches in the vicinity.
These churches seems to be doing
quite well but of course any help is
always welcomed.
We then travelled north to the border
town of Mae Sai to go across to
Tachileik, in Myanmar by foot. After
crossing the border into Myanmar, we
all squeeze into a motorbike truck
to go to the church in Tachileik. Pr
Jeremiah, Pr Lawrence and Pr Yee
Onn gave some excellent teachings
on the vision and values of a vibrant
church. The messages were illustrated
and conveyed so well to them that all
clearly understood the contents and
had no further questions to ask during
the Q & A.
We stayed the night in Tachileik and
the following morning, returned to the
church for the Sunday service. Pr
Jeffrey preached while Lip Yee gave a
word of exaltation and Susan shared
a testimony on healing. After a yummy
lunch of ‘kampong’ chicken porridge
cooked by the church chef, we
returned back to Mae Chan for the
night.
Next destination, Laos
We travelled eastward through the
hills and along the river that forms the
border between Thailand and Laos beautiful scenery along the way! From
the Thai border town of Chiang Khong,
we cross over to Laos by a short boat
ride. Here we hired a van to go in to two
villages. Both of these has a simple
small church building. For many of
villagers there, this could be the very
first time they hear the Gospel being
preached in their native tongue.
Pr Weng Cheong and Pr Kwan both
conveyed God’s love to them through
the Word. The team prayed for the
many, many needs of healing. We
trust that after hands are laid on them
for the healing work of the Lord, they
may experience God personally.
So many children in these villages! If
these are nurtured in the Word of the
Lord at this tender age, we never know
what impact they can bring to their
country, Laos. The door is opened, the
harvest field is ready here I believe.
We had to cross back to Chiang
Khong by 4pm. Otherwise, there will
be a penalty to pay. From here, we
travelled many hours back to Chiang
Mai for the return flight back to Kuala
Lumpur...Mission accomplished...for
now.
