Hallowe’en cookies
Ingredients
140g butter
175g plain flour
50g icing sugar
zest 1 orange
For the filling
100g mascarpone
1 tsp icing sugar
25g plain chocolate

1. Preheat oven to fan 160ºC
conventional 180ºC gas 4. Put
softened butter in bowl, beat
until smooth. Add flour, icing sugar and
orange zest, beat together to make a softish dough.
Knead into ball, wrap in cling film. Chill for 1hr.
2. Roll dough out on a floured surface to 3mm thick.
Cut circles with a round cutter and put on baking
sheets. Cut out faces on half of the circles and
score pumpkin lines, bake for 15 minutes with the
other plain circles until pale golden. Leave to cool.
3. For the filling, beat the mascarpone with the icing
sugar, stir in the cooled melted chocolate. Spread
the filling over the cooled plain biscuits, then press
the 'face' ones on top.

Wales’.

Later, everyone was entertained
by cabaret vocalist, Janita, who sang
songs from the Beach Boys to Vera
Lynne. A very good time was had
by all.

The Pembrokeshire sun shone
on Kensington Court tenants,
their families and members of
the public at the Courtiers first
summer fayre.
All were entertained by classical
music from Milford Haven Town Band,
and a wonderful performance by the
Seren Irish School of Dance (pictured
on the front cover).
Fun was had by all ages visiting
various stalls which included ‘Hook a
Duck’ and the ‘Bottle Tombola’ complete with a Magnum of
Champagne!
Work has already begun on
ideas for the Christmas Fayre...
but this will be a hard one to
beat!
2011 Gardening Competition
Those judging this years competition said it was a pleasure to see
the creativity involved in the design of hard and soft landscaping,
abundance of colour and delicious garden produce.
It was also especially nice to see the gardens tended by the children again this year.
Here are some of the photographs taken by the judges. Winners will be invited to
Kensington Court for afternoon tea for the presentation of certificates, prizes and
plaques for Best Estate and Best Communal Garden.
