The mission of Kids’ Chance of PA is to provide scholarship grants for college and vocational education to children of Pennsylvania workers who have been killed or seriously injured in a work-related accident resulting in financial need. The scholarship application is available online at apply.kidschanceofpa.org. The Pennsylvania Association of Medical Suppliers is pleased to announce their scholarship to a student who has overcome physical challenges with the help of home medical equipment and supplies. More information is available in the guidance office. Juniata College is excited to add three new varsity sports – men’s and women’s golf as well as women’s lacrosse – beginning in fall 2017. The Captain Bob Gallardy Memorial Scholarship is available to any senior who is a member of a volunteer fire department located within and serving the communities within the school district. The categories include Video & animation, Design, Computer Aided Drafting, Photography and Web Development. Students who enjoy creating art and logo designs are encouraged to create a new logo for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The contest is open to students 13 and up in grades 9-12. First, Second and third prizes will be awarded. The art room has additional information, supplies and entry forms for this project. $2,500 welding scholarship. Students must be pursuing a two-year welding certificate or degree at an accredited academic institution. Thomas O’Brien Memorial Scholarship. The student must be a vocational technical student and plan on attending a post-secondary institution majoring in a career and technical field. The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is offering a summer internship opportunity. The internship will run from June 20 through August 12 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
