JOB SUMMARY
The Credentialed Trainer provides direct Epic training to current and new personnel, for
implementation and to meet on-going training needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND OBJECTIVES*
Job-Specific Competencies
1. Attend a formal training class specifically for Epic credentialed trainers.
1.1. Receive training on the courses (applications) that will be taught
1.2. Training will be 5-6 weeks to become a credentialed trainer
1.3. Complete a credentialing exam with a minimum score of 85%
1.4. Pass all end-user proficiency assessment with a minimum score of 80%
1.5. Give a formal panel presentation on the material you will be teaching.
2. Assist in the development of curriculum, training plans, and teaching Epic applications
3. Assist in the development and validation of the training environment and the testing of live
environment.
4. Collaborates with the Epic Training manager and Principal Trainers on input for training
and training materials.
5. Assists in the development of skills assessment program for the Epic system.
6. Evaluate the results of the skills assessment and observations to review and revise
training as needed.
7. Provides employee education based on assessment of learning needs of the learner

8. Coordinates logistics associated with training delivery preparation activities such as
copying and assembling printed materials, set-up, maintenance of training rooms,
equipment preparation, post training, clean-up, etc.
9. Conduct training and assist the principal trainers during end user classes, on-going
training, and upgrade/functionality enhancement training.
10. Communicate changes and enhancements of the Epic electronic health record to the end
users.
11. Independently leads ongoing training and acts as the primary support of the electronic
health record.
12. Assists with application support testing/training activities as directed.
13. Facilitates personalization labs for providers or other attendees.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required.
