Sports History at ISB
Every Picture Tells a Story
That was the title of Rod Stewart’s third record album in 1971.
It would make an excellent title for the aerial photo below…taken in 1969.
Looking at the photo of the ISB campus, one can see that the original ISB baseball diamond
was placed on the Chateau Field and the present Lower Synthetic Field looked like a prairie!
We, ISB Athletics, are asking any and all ISB Alumni to send us ISB sports photos with a caption that
gives us a brief glimpse into the history of sports at ISB.
It might be an action shot from an ISST or DoDDs tournament that you have hung onto over the
years. It could be a shot from a game or match hosted by ASL-London, ASP-Paris, AIS-Athens or CACCairo…any school, you decide…you write the caption!
With the 60th Anniversary of ISB coming up in 2011 we are looking to put together a History of ISB
Sports booklet with the idea of offering it to interested present and past ISB families.
ISB has a rich history in the sports arena of international schools...we would like to document some
moments and highlights from the past 60 years. At present ISB has the largest sports program
within the International Schools circuit on continental Europe with 56 teams and over 800
participating student/athletes.
How to participate:
 Find a photo related to ISB sports
 It needs to be in electronic form so if it’s a printed picture you will need to scan it and save it
in JPEG format…if it is already in JPEG form you are already set
 Using email, attach the photo and a short summary of what is going on in the photo….please
include first & last names of people in the picture as well as their graduating year, if you
know this information
 Unless you indicate otherwise in your email we will assume that you give us permission to
use your picture and caption in the History of ISB Sports booklet and posters…thank you.

For practical reasons we will be unable to print all contributions. We will provide a wide ranging
selection of sports…quality of photos as well as subject matter will be just two of the determining
factors in choosing which photos we can publish.
So…dust off those photo albums and take a walk down memory lane…we are waiting to hear from
you!
