It began with a truck and
a vision. A Texan by birth,
Hank Bachar moved to California in 1937, got married
in 1950, started a family and
settled in at Kaiser Steel. But
Hank’s entrepreneurial spirit
soon got him looking around
for ways to make use of his
talents and ambition. Identifying a growing need to provide
more reliable transportation
methods in the southland, Hank put his
energy into launching his own trucking
company, Hank’s Freight Service, in 1954.
It wasn’t long before Hank became known for going the extra mile
for his clients. The fledgling business quickly grew into the highly
successful business that ultimately became Sun Express.
