THE
PROBLEM
The critical challenge that this project aims to solve is:
Approximately 45% of African women in South Africa live in abject poverty, abusive relationships and
do not have access to basic legal information and services.
Although the law makes allowance for their access to legal services through Pro Bono; the most
vulnerable women still cannot gain such access.

PROBLEM
Lack of access to basic legal information and services is a violation
of these women’s human rights and makes them more prone to
abuse and exploitation. Lady Liberty aims to solve this challenge.

TEAM
Samantha is currently the only Attorney on the project and is currently
collaborating with strategic partners and Organizations such as Soul City
while establishing relationships with law firms in order to tap into the reserves
of their Pro Bono hours.

Leveraging off additional resource, skill and Pro Bono hours
Utilizing technology (mobile ‘App’) to complement efforts and enhance effectiveness
Enabling International donors to execute projects at grass roots level
