Weekday 2/Tuesday St. Lucy Virgin and Martyr
Zephaniah 3:1-2, Matthew 21:28-32
You know anyone who goes around eating A LOT OF FAT IN THEIR DIET? And when I say a lot of fat, I'm
talking about at least, like, a pound of butter a day!! You know anyone like that?
Do you know anyone who gets up in the morning and has half a glass of Crisco oil for breakfast!
OF COURSE NOT! And that’s because no one makes a ‘conscious decision’ to eat like that. We all know
what we’re supposed to eat: Protein, Vegetables, Complex Carbohydrates, we know that right?
So WHY IS IT we eat a McDonald’s Hamburger? Why is it that every morning when we get up – we just walk
by the exercise bike? WHY?
It's because when you eat that Juicy Greasy Burger at lunch, it doesn’t KILL YOU today – but that SIMPLE
ERROR IN JUDGMENT when repeated on a regular basis and compounded over time WILL TAKE YOU
OUT OF LIFE…
But it won’t kill you today.
I mean if every morning when I got up and walked by that exercise bike and had a Heart Attack: I’d exercise
everyday!!! If I ate a McDonald's hamburger and had a Heart Attack: I’d NEVER eat another hamburger
again!!!
So WHY do we do it??
It’s a “A SIMPLE ERROR IN JUDGMENT…”
Won’t kill you today – but over time, it will devastate your health…
On a certain level, countless parallels can be drawn by means of this observation when it comes to the realm
of OBEDIENCE… I mean, why is it that we have such a hard time with this Virtue? And this isn't something
that starts when were in High School, this is something that starts when we’re like two years old!
“Little Johnny, pick up your toys.” “NNnnnO!”
"Little Johnny, eat your vegetables!” “NNnno!” and then from there, the vegetables find themselves being
thrown all over the floor.
There’s something inside each of us that, in some Sadistic Way, LOVES TO RESIST OBEDIENCE. And the
smarter we are, the harder we will resist anyone's rule and or authority over us. In Latin, the words for this type
of behavior are: “NON QUAM SERVIAM!!!”
The very words originally spoke by he who was the greatest of the Angels ever created. "I WILL NOT
SERVE!!” Was THAT which echoed from the lips of Lucifer throughout the great Halls of Heaven just prior to
unleashing of the SPIRITUAL WARFARE that continues to exist this day between Visible and Invisible
Creatures who obey the will of God and those who DISOBEY.
I mean, if I support the idea of Euthanasia today, and I encourage those around me to kill themselves by means
of the Medical System cause that's now MY RIGHT to do so, that doesn't affect my day! If I support and
promote the Homosexual Agenda as if it's the same thing as the institution of marriage between a man and a
woman, that's not going to change the kind of day I'm having!
BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT… If upon the very moment of AGREEING WITH EUTHANASIA – I SAW
open before me the existence of everlasting Hell with Souls being plunged into the Lake of Fire where the
worm never dies…I’D probably start working full-time for Pro-Life in all of its dimensions!
If after checking the box that says I support marriage between two consenting adults regardless of sex, and
suddenly, had a VISION of how many ‘little ones’ are being scandalized by my decision coupled with
seeing a Huge Millstone being tied around my neck and thrown into the ocean – I’d be doing everything I
could to keep sacred that which God has made sacred: MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN.
SIMPLE ERROR IN JUDGMENT…”
Won’t kill you today – but over time? – now that’s a different story isn’t it…
Disobedience to God in all of its forms – it's a SIMPLE ERROR IN JUDGMENT – won't kill you today, but
simple errors in Judgment, BEING repeated on a regular basis and compounded over time – REGULARLY
brings ‘GREAT MANY a SOULS’ right before the GATES OF HELL…
But it won’t kill you today…
Like the two sons in today's Gospel … when it comes to OBEDIENCE: EVERY DAY we have choices to
make.
"My child, go! Go and work in my Vineyard TODAY!!!"
