GreenScreen® Revive™
& Vela Met
100% PVC-free polyester fabrics
Produced from recycled plastic bottles,
GreenScreen® Revive™ is a 100%
recyclable, PVC-free polyester fabric
that is free of heavy metals, low in VOC
and made from 89% recycled content.
Vela Met is a high-performing,
environmentally-friendly, warp-knit
sunscreen fabric with metalised backing
that helps to save energy through the
maximum reflection of solar energy.
Thermal & Optical Properties
Solar protection and light control indicators are laboratory-tested.
The most relevant and widely used factors include:
Optical Factors
Thermal Factors (Fabric and Glass)
Tv Visible Transmittance
This factor measures the percentage of visible light
coming through the fabric that can be seen by
the naked eye. It is related to the amount of light
(brightness) a person receives through a glazing
system. A low figure shows a very efficient fabric.
G-value
The g-value is a measure of the total solar energy
transmittance calculated using either EN 13363-1A1
(2007) or ASTM E903-96 standards. A low number
means better performance against solar heat build-up.
Rv Visible Light Reflectance
This factor measures the percentage of visible light
reflected by the fabric to the outside of a building.
The higher the number the more visible light reflected.
Tuv Ultra Violet Transmittance
This factor measures the value of ultra violet light
going through the fabric. The lower the value, the less
ultra violet light transmitted through the fabric.
Of Openness Factor
This factor measures the proportion of holes in a
woven fabric. This parameter, together with other
technical properties of the fabric, should be considered
when determining the degree of visibility and heat
and glare control that the fabric offers. The openness
factor can vary slightly from colour to colour in the
same fabric, and is often expressed as an Average OF. A
low OF indicates that the fabric has a very close weave.
Thermal Factors (Fabric only)
Ts Solar Transmittance
This factor measures the proportion of solar energy
transmitted through the fabric. A low percentage
means the fabric performs well at reducing solar
energy.
Rs Solar Reflectance
This factor measures the proportion of solar radiation
reflected by the fabric. A high percentage means the
fabric performs well at reflecting solar energy.
As Solar Absorptance
This factor measures the proportion of solar radiation
absorbed by the fabric. A low percentage means the
fabric absorbs little solar energy. Solar radiation is
always partially transmitted through, absorbed or
reflected by the fabric. The sum of all 3 equals 100.
Ts + Rs + As = 100 % of solar energy.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient
The Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures the
window’s (fabric and glass) ability to transmit solar
energy into a room. The SHGC is commonly referred
to as g-tot. SHGC/g-tot is a calculation of the solar
protection device (fabric) and the glazing (CL-S/DG).
The lower the g-tot value, the greater its ability to
insulate against solar heat build-up.
Glazing Types
Test data has been supplied using the following
glazing types:
• CL-S (EN14501 glazing type A)
Clear single glazing (4mm float)
With a g-value of 0.85
• DG (EN14501 glazing type C)
Double glazing (4mm float + 16mm space + 4mm
float) with low emissivity coating in position 3 (outer
surface of the inner plane), space filled with argon.
With a g-value of 0.59

Care and Cleaning
Brushing softly and lightly with a clean, soft bristled brush will remove any loose dirt or dust. You can also use a
vacuum with a soft brush. When vacuuming, avoid pulling or stretching the fabric.
