Rosie Huntington-Whiteley:
I would love advice from Elle
R
osie Huntington-Whiteley would love to call Elle
Macpherson for advice on how to become a
“brand”. The 28-year-old British model wants to be
as successful for as long as the 51-year-old fashion legend
- who is just as famous for her business ventures as she is
for her figure - and thinks her career could only be aided
by a good mentor. Rosie said: “I’ve always been aware
that modeling was going to be a fleeting moment. From
very early on people would say, ‘Save your money, modeling doesn’t last long.’ And I left school at 17, basically
without any qualifications. I realized I had this opportuni-

Road’ - told the new issue of Glamour magazine: “That’s
my one piece of advice. It definitely helps to try and see
where it is you want to be in five years and kind of work
back from that. I’ve always been very clear about where I
wanted to go, and it was seeing myself at a certain place
at a certain time. For any job, it really is a powerful thing.”
ty to really build something for the long term for myself,
so what could that be? I started looking at the models a
generation ahead of me, and I saw a lot of these women
turning themselves into brands. There have definitely
been times in my life when I’ve been like, ‘Oh God, I wish I
knew Elle Macpherson well enough to pick up the phone
to call her.’ “ Rosie - who has a lingerie range and a new
cosmetics line with British high street retailer Marks &
Spencer - credits her success to visualizing what she
wants to achieve and then going for it. The blonde beauty - who has a burgeoning acting career with roles in

Ora cuts off her long
blonde hair extensions
R
ita Ora ditched her hair extensions because she
wanted her locks to look like they were “cut
with a knife and fork”. The pop beauty had a
clear idea in her mind about what she wanted her
new style to resemble when she decided to ditch the
length boosting strands and go shorter. Rita insists
when you make a decision to overhaul your look you
have to be bold. The 25-year-old star said: “This (my
hair) was something I wanted to look like was cut
with a knife and fork. I definitely wanted it to look like
it wasn’t a strategic, planned haircut. I like this little
wedge in the back. I think you have to have a commitment to a certain degree to be like, ‘Alright guys I’m
cutting my hair off.’ I am with all my looks, whether it’s
extensions or whatever. I always commit to it. You
have to or it doesn’t work.” Although Rita is one of the
sexiest women in the music business and regularly
wows with her flesh-baring outfits she claims she’s
actually a “tomboy”. But the ‘Coming Home’ hitmaker
admits she just cannot resist clothes that make her
feel “sexy”. Speaking in a video interview with
InStyle.com, she said: “I’m more comfortable being
the street girl. I’m definitely a tomboy at heart. But I
can’t say no to clothes, I can’t say no to something
that makes me feel sexy and glamorous.” Rita has
modeled for numerous designers and most recently
posed in her own underwear range that she created
for Italian designer Tezenis.

id Cudi treated his fans to a screening of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
at the weekend. The 31-year-old rapper bought all the tickets for an
11pm screening of the long-awaited movie at the Pacific Theatres within the Americana mall in Glendale, California on Saturday night and issued an
open invite on Twitter for his loyal supporters to go and enjoy the film with
him. He wrote: Do you love Star Wars? Do you love me? Would you wanna see
Star Wars Force Awakens tonight with me, my treat? If you’re cool, with a good
heart and good vibes and said yes to all of these things, then meet me at the
address with one of my albums, (SBTH so I know its real) or some type of OFFICIAL Kid Cudi merch (T shirt, hat etc) and the first people to get here by 10 50
pm with at least one of those things gets 1 single adult ticket to the 11pm
Star Wars Force Awakens in 3D on the house with me and some friends. I pretty much bought the entire theater so lets pack it up!!... “Why am I doing this?
It’s Star Wars. And why not! I thought it would be cool to start the year off
watching a great film for the third time with some great company.” Following
the screening, Twitter was flooded with grateful fans thanking the star whose real name is Scott Mescudi - for his generosity and showing off pictures of their signed tickets and merchandise. And fans who don’t live in
California shouldn’t be too upset as the rapper has promised he will be staging “a couple more” screenings in different cities.
he 17-year-old actor-and-rapper - the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith - is fronting the luxury fashion house’s forthcoming Spring/Summer 2016 Womenswear campaign. The news was
announced by the brand’s creative director, Nicolas GhesquiËre last night on Instagram when he
uploaded a photograph from the campaign of Jaden wearing in a black skirt, fringed vest and a biker
jacket. He accompanied the shot with the caption: “Happy to introduce Jaden Smith @christiaingrey in
the new SS16 @louisvuitton ad Campaign photographed by Bruce Weber.” News that Jaden, who is
known for his eccentric fashion choices, is the newest face of the French label comes after he was named
one of GQ’s Most Stylish Men Alive in 2015. Meanwhile, last year proved a successful year for the young
talent as he also launched his clothing line, MSFTSrep. It’s also believed the ‘After Earth’ star - who recently
compared himself to Italian scientist and scholar Galileo - is penning a book on philosophy in a bid to
inspire people. A source said last month: “Jaden sees himself as a modern-day prophet and is working on
a collection of essays. “They’re new takes on string theory and chaos theory, but more mystical. He hopes
to have a spiritual following when he releases these.”

against two fans
L
ana Del Rey has obtained a restraining order against two fans.
The ‘Video Games’ hit maker was reportedly left in fear of her
life because of the obsessive behavior of Nataliia Krinitsyna
and Iuliia Vladimirovna, alleging the Russians had screamed her
name in the middle of the night, and filled her mailbox with suicidal and threatening notes. Things got so bad, Lana moved house
but the two fans tracked her down and continued sleeping outside
her home and shouting for her through the night. As she was so
convinced the two women would kill her, the 30-year-old star hired
a full-time bodyguard and off duty Los Angeles police officers for
protection. The restraining order was granted and a Los Angeles
judge ordered the two women to stay 100 yards away from the
singer and her home, TMZ reports. Just a month ago, a 19-year-old
fan was arrested after he was discovered living in the garage of
Lana’s Malibu home, which is currently under construction. Police
said the man was “clearly infatuated” with the singer after discovering “rambling” notes he had written. He was reported by a construction worker but had disappeared before police arrived, and
officers eventually tracked him down and arrested him in nearby
Santa Monica.
shley Greene has settled a two-year legal dispute over
a fire at her apartment. The ‘Twilight Saga’ actress whose home in West Hollywood’s Granville Towers
went up in flames due to an unattended candle in March
2013 - has reportedly agreed an undisclosed settlement with
the building’s doorman, Adrian Mayorga, TMZ reports. The
member of staff had claimed he was hurt while running
through the smoke-filled hallways, yelling for residents to flee
the burning building. The ‘Pan Am’ actress was left “inconsolable” after the fire as it killed one of her beloved dogs, fox
terrier Marlo. It was claimed after the blaze that residents had
previously complained to the building manager about their
famous tenant. Ashley’s neighbors were reportedly unsurprised by the fire and claimed she caused commotion by
inviting friends and fellow actors over to her condo at all
hours of the day, including during the middle of the night,
resulting in the people living below her having trouble sleeping. Four other residents in the block previously sued over the
fire, claiming repairing the damage had wrecked their homes
and turned the historic building into a “disruptive construction zone”.
Traviss likes
Winehouse statue
R
eg Traviss thinks the Amy Winehouse
statue is “amazing”. The 38-year-old
filmmaker has visited Camden Town
in North London to see the likeness of his
late fiancee - who died in July 2011 - a number of times and is “very pleased” with the
permanent tribute to the ‘Back to Black’ hitmaker. He said: “I think it’s quite amazing to
be honest, that there is a statue in existence. It’s a real salute to her. I think it’s
quite amazing. I’m very pleased actually.
“I’ve been there a couple of times. It’s obviously funny to go and see, as you can imagine, but I think it’s brilliant.” Reg believes
people will always be interested in the tragic singer and her life story, especially
because her music is so “timeless”. Asked if
he thinks interest in Amy will ever die down,
he said: “I think when there’s someone so
talented in what they do and is such a personality who attracts a lot of attention, all
we can do is look at other people in history.
“So when I say looking at other people, I
would say most likely ... No. “ I can’t imagine
it because her music was quite timeless,
extremely good, so just like anything, its
lifetime will just continue.”
