Greg graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a BS in Finance, and has been in the title industry since 1993. He is a registered abstracter and licensed title agent in the State of Nebraska. Greg is a past president and past member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Land Title Association. He is also active on NLTA’s Legislative Committee, the PAC Committee and the Past Presidents Council. Greg serves on the Butler County Economic Development Corporation, Board of Directors of the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art and is active in his community. Greg has coached AYSO soccer for several years and also volunteers on church and school committees. Tim Gray, McCarthy Abstract Co.; Tim was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska, and was raised in O’Neill, Nebraska, where he attended Saint Mary’s grade and high school graduating in 1970. Tim graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, in 1976 with a degree in Animal Science and Ag Education. After graduation, Tim was employed by LeDoyt Land Company of Omaha, Brown Land Company and later for Shonka Real Estate, Inc., in O’Neill as a real estate Broker. He became a registered abstracter and title agent in 1983 and was employed by McCarthy Abstract Company in O’Neill. In 1987 he purchased Holt County Abstract Company and merged with McCarthy Abstract Company which he now owns and operates. In 1989, McCarthy Abstract Company also began performing escrow closings. Tim has served on various boards, including O’Neill Chamber of Commerce, O’Neill Rotary, O’Neill St. Mary’s School Board, and Avera Saint Anthony’s Hospital, part of which time he served as board chairman. He served a term on the board of Directors of the Nebraska Land Title Association from 1985 to 1988, and again from 2000 to 2003. He served that board as president in 2003 and was awarded Title Person of the Year in 2004. Tim is now a member of the Education, Legislative and PAC committees of Nebraska Land Title Association, and was appointed to the Abstracters Board of Examiners, in November 2015 Sue Stryker, Nolan, Olson & Stryker, P.C., L.L.O.; Susan Stryker is a partner in the law firm of Nolan, Olson & Stryker, P.C., L.L.O. in Omaha, Nebraska. The primary focus of the law firm’s practice is insurance defense litigation. Ms. Stryker received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Creighton University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law. Prior to her return to private practice in 2002, Ms. Stryker was involved in the title insurance industry as in-house counsel for Security Land Title & Escrow Company in Omaha, Nebraska and as Assistant Regional Counsel for First American Title Insurance Company. As in-house counsel and Assistant Regional Counsel, Susan engaged in underwriting and claims handling. Ms. Stryker is a member of the NLTA Education Committee and has previously served as a speaker and panelist for NLTA. Cullen Marshall, Old Republic National Title Insurance Company; Cullen Marshall joined Old Republic’s South Central Division underwriting team in July 2014. Prior to Old Republic, Cullen briefly worked in private practice at a small law firm in St. Louis, where he assisted senior attorneys in preparing documents for real estate transactions and foreclosures, in addition to general litigation matters. Cullen is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in May 2013, and is a licensed attorney in both Missouri and Illinois. In his free time, when not working on updating his home, Cullen enjoys reading and spending time with his family. Moderator: Ellen Albrecht, First American Title Insurance Company: Ellen Albrecht is a Vice President and the State Manager for First American Title Insurance Company for the State of Nebraska. She oversees their Direct and Agency operations for the state. She is title licensed and a registered abstracter. She was chairman of the Abstracters Board of Examiners in 1996 and is a past president of the Nebraska Land Title Association. She remains active in NLTA serving on the education and legislative committees. Ellen has been approved by the Nebraska Real Estate Commission to instruct continuing education sessions. She has been involved in abstracting, title insurance production, underwriting and escrow closings for 39 years. 9:30-10:00 Legislative Update Speakers: Justin Rhoades, DRI Title; Andy Romatzke, Vintage Title & Escrow Co.; Matt Schaefer, Mueller Robak LLC Justin Rhoades, DRI Title; Justin is currently the Title Production Manager for DRI Title & Escrow in Omaha and a licensed title producer for Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. He is a participating member in the Land Title Association of Colorado and Nebraska. Prior to joining DRI Title & Escrow, Justin held positions with TitleCore National, as State Manager for Red Vision Systems in Tempe, Arizona and as a Chief Title Officer for U.S. Title Agency and LandAmerica in Phoenix, Arizona. Justin has been employed in the Title Insurance industry for 17 years, and currently serves on the Nebraska Land Title Association’s board of directors. He currently holds a position on the board of the Omahar Armbrust YMCA and enjoys coaching basketball and football through their youth sports program. Andy Romatzke, Vintage Title & Escrow Co.; Andrew D. Romatzke is a 2004 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. He practiced law in Kearney for 4 years. He then spent 5 years working in the title insurance industry in Omaha and Grand Island. In January of 2014 he purchased Vintage Title & Escrow Company in Kearney. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, a licensed title insurance agent and a registered abstracter. Matthew T. Schaefer joined Mueller Robak LLC as an associate in 2010. His practice focuses on government relations. Mr. Schaefer works with a broad range of clients on legislative issues and public policy matters. Mr. Schaefer is a 2010 honors graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he was an executive editor of the Nebraska Law Review and a Theodore C. Sorensen Fellow. She is a member of the ALTA Government Affairs, Public Relations, State Regulatory Action and Technology Committee. She is also a Co-chair of the MBA MISMO eMortgage Group and a member of the Residential Technology Committee. He has established key relationships with leaders in the mortgage and title industries and has been recognized for his success in sales and customer service. Growing up in a small town in central Iowa, Wes worked on farms and in construction. This taught him the importance of hard work and doing what is right. After majoring in International Business and Finance at Iowa State University, he developed proficiency in finance and real estate as an analyst and mortgage consultant at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Prior to co-founding ATS, Wes worked at First State Bank as Director of Emerging Markets. Steven Cobb, Nebraska State Surveyor; Mr. Cobb is a professional land surveyor with over thirty-five years of surveying experience in private practice and public service. Mr. Cobb has been with the Nebraska State Surveyor’s Office since 1987 and has been the Nebraska State Surveyor since 2005.
