Prince Philip House at 3 Carlton House Terrace is an historic
Grade I listed building, overlooking The Mall and St James’s
Park and a short walk from Trafalgar Square.
This impressive venue, set in two John Nash houses combines grace
and sophistication with facilities for events such as board meetings,
lectures, conferences, private dinners, prize and award celebrations,
exhibitions, press conferences, film shoots, product launches and
drinks or canapé receptions.
The contemporary design of the Prince Philip House interior makes each
room versatile enough to be transformed from a board meeting to film
premierè party at a moment’s notice. High ceilings, an abundance of
natural daylight and traditional features such as the original staircase are
a few of the elements which make up this unique venue.
Prince Philip House was designed so that the building would be
welcoming and accessible to all visitors.
A single wheelchair-accessible entrance with a new sinuous bridge and
ramp were designed, rising gradually across the forecourt to make up the
one-metre level difference between the pavements and reception.
Not only have accessibility requirements (as laid out in the Disability
Discrimination Act 1995) been met but additional features have been
added including:
• Accessibility to all levels of the building via either of the 2
DDA-compliant passenger lifts
• Disabled toilet provision situated on the mezzanine (level -1)

THE ROOMS
GROUND FLOOR
THE DAVID SAINSBURY ROOM - Multifunctional, striking and
accommodating, this spacious space has terrace access making
it suitable for all event types, large or small, formal or causal. The
David Sainsbury Room offers an en-suite meeting room, the East
Meeting Room, with views over The Mall and St James’s Park.
THE ROLLS-ROYCE ROOM - With an abundance of natural
light and excellent views over the Academy’s entrance garden,
this space is perfect for meetings, receptions and exhibitions.
THE KIRBY LAING ROOM - A first class facility with blank
canvas potential, the Sir Kirby Laing Room is a large, bright space
with fantastic views over Carlton House Terrace. Exceptionally
suited for larger receptions and meetings.
THE EAST AND WEST MEETING ROOM - Intimate and private,
ideal for smaller meetings or green room space for your guest
speaker or VIP.
THE NATIONAL GRID ROOM – With stunning views over The
Mall and St James’s Park, this elegant space is perfect for
breakout or registration.

THE MICHAEL BISHOP FOUNDATION ROOM - This bright
room is a blank canvas for any small event or sub-event.
Leading on from the Al Qasimi Rooms, it boasts enjoyable views
over Carlton House Gardens and the Academy’s landscaped
gardens. Predominately used for small board meetings, this
space is also the ideal exhibition, breakout or catering space.
THE AL QASIMI LECTURE THEATRE - At the touch of a button
the Al Qasimi Lecture Theatre can be effortlessly divided into two
separate rooms, the Al Qasimi North and the Al Qasimi South.
The Al Qasimi takes up the majority of the first floor with easy
access to the Michael Bishop and ERA Foundation Rooms.
THE ERA FOUNDATION ROOM – A bright, modern open plan
space with high ceilings. This multifunctional ante room is used
to compliment the Al Qasimi Rooms as ideal catering, breakout
or exhibition space, or for drinks and canapé receptions.

Prince Philip House has been designed to provide the most modern AV
services which meet most major requirements.
Our AV facilities can be individually controlled by the event organiser via iPad
provided by Prince Philip House. Our onsite AV technician can be on hand
to help if needed.
All meeting rooms have access to the following:
• 55” LED screen mobile AV unit with Blu-Ray player, speakers and
connectivity to devices is available for any of the rooms and can link to
any room for overflow
