UK Data Archive Study Number 8117 - Qualitative Election Study of Britain, 2015 THE QUALITATIVE ELECTION STUDY OF BRITAIN 2015 Quantitative Data Documentation Principal Investigator Dr. Edzia Carvalho, University of Dundee International Co-Investigator Dr. Kristi Winters, GESIS, Cologne Funded by British Academy and Leverhulme Trust Small Grant SG142740 and supported by Carnegie Corporation of New York, GESIS-Leibniz Institute (Cologne) and University of Dundee QESB Contacts http://qesb.info [email protected] qualesb2015 [email protected] @qualesb [email protected] ‘QESB’ Using QESB 2015 quantitative data Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the QESB’s quantitative dataset These data were collected from QESB participants before and during the pre- and post-election focus groups. All personally identifying information has been removed from this dataset. The data themselves have either been recoded into numerical values, for ease of analysis, or have been reported as string variables. This information can be treated as descriptive statistics. It includes some demographic information, and other information that compliments the qualitative data, including social media use and political party preferences. Below you will find a list of the variable names, labels and coding descriptions as well as the wording for each of the questionnaires we used during our research. Importantly, this data release includes the permanent identifier for each participant. This information will allow you to follow individuals in the pre-, post- and quantitative datasets. Linking participant’s data by assigning them a study identification number should facilitate mixed methods use or help researchers find data using the descriptive statistics for the participants. If you have any questions or comments please get in touch. Yours sincerely, Dr. Edzia Carvalho, Principle Investigator Dr. Kristi Winters, International Co-Investigator 2 Var.
