“That’s SOME Judge!” PDF Have a volunteer come to the board and serve as your assistant. While you’re explaining to your students how this will work, instruct your volunteer to write the numbers 1-‐22 on the board with space to write out beside them. Explain to students that you’re going to ask for some specific types of words. Students are to take turns calling out words that fit the description and your assistant will write them out beside the number. Encourage students to be creative, and by all means have fun. (But be sure you don’t get out of order or write words down by the wrong numbers.) So, for example, you’d say: For number 1, I need the name of someone in this room. (Students call out a name, your assistant writes the name down beside “1” on the board, and you move to the next word.) For number 2, I need an adjective . . . Continue in this way until you’ve recorded all the words. Then, turn to the next page and read The Story. Each time you come to a blank, simply say the word that your assistant has written beside the corresponding number on the board. When you’ve finished, transition back your Leader’s Guide to wrap up the discussion. WORD LIST 1. Student in the room 2. Adjective 3. Verb ending in –ed 4. Place 5. Name 6. Name 7. Last name 8.
