What would the world be like without geometry?
Students will work with the following tasks:
 Naming and classifying different geometrical elements(point, line, angle, regular and
irregular planar figures, solids).
 Measuring and drawing angles: acute, obtuse, right angle, straight angle, and reflex
angle.
 Solving problems using properties of angles.
 Measuring and constructing 2-D geometrical objects: triangles, quadrilaterals and many
sided polygons(pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, etc)
 Measuring and constructing 3-D shapes: cube, prism, pyramid, cylinder, sphere,
octahedron and dodecahedron.
 Transformations of geometrical objects: reflection, rotation and translation.
 Finding perimeter/area/volume of 2-D and 3-D shapes objects.
Classwork, homework, test and project work will be given in the class.


Dear parents of MYP 1 and 2
It is now MYP 1 and 2’s turn to start swimming lessons! Below is list of what they will be
learning, how the day will run, and what they need to bring.
What skills the students will be learning.
We will be focusing on the ATL of Health and Social Education, and the different objectives in
the Physical Education Curriculum.. During their time in the pool they will be learning about
 Water safety
 Survival techniques
 Learning and refining different stroke techniques
Below is the timetable for swimming
08:30 – 10:00 Class time
10:00 – Break
10:25 – Walk up to bus, take the bus to the swimming pool and get changed
11:00 – Swimming Lesson
12:00 – Out of pool and get dressed
12:30 – Bus home
12:40 - Lunch
13:00 - Norwegian
13:30 - Break
13:45 – Spanish\Russian
14:45 – School Finished.
WHAT TO BRING - essential
 Swimmers – Students are to be dressed in swimmers before they come to the pool.
 Towel
 Plastic bag to put wet things in.
 ( Please make sure girls with long hair have it tied back or braided)
