Tir In ancient Persian lore, the angel of June and governing angel of the 13th day
of the month. He was regent of Mercury and has been represented as having the
body of a fish, with a boar’s head. His one arm is black while the other is white.
On his head rests a crown. In Muslim lore, he is the demon of fatal accidents and
one of the five sons of the fallen archangel Iblis.
