Trustee Elections 2016
School trustee elections will be held later this year - why not consider putting your
name forward as a trustee. Check out http://www.trustee-election.co.nz/ for a helpful
presentation about what the school trustee role is all about.
Stationery / School Donation
Yesterday you will have received a notice featuring information about stationery packs, school
donation and other costs.
The purchase of the stationery packs from school simplifies this process for everyone ensures
really great quality products at a competitive price.
The stationery notice also detailed our school donation for 2016.
While not compulsory, your school donation plays an essential role in funding learning
opportunities at our school. As a decile 10 school we receive significantly less funding than lower
decile schools.
Your donation allows us to fund essential school equipment and give opportunities that we couldn’t
otherwise provide.
To help ease the pressure at this time of year you are welcome to pay school donations at the start
of Term 2 or to spread payments over the year. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Class blogs
Class blogs are a great way to know what is going on in your child’s room.
This year class blogs will include:
•
notices of what is happening and coming up
•
•
share learning in all curriculum areas
ask questions for help from you and the community
We are encouraging children to learn how to be a digital citizen and one of those ways is through
commenting on the blog. Each class will be discussing how to comment on the blog. You can
support them by visiting your class blog and leaving a comment.
Out of School Care
Thank you for your feedback on after school / before
school care.
We are committed to providing this service to families in
2016 and beyond.
We will be tidying up our pricing structure to make this
fairer for all users.
In 2016 before and after school care will cost $5 per hour,
including care, food and activities.
This will be charged in 15 minute increments. If cost is an
issue then please contact us in confidence.
School Pool
Please ensure that your child has
their togs and a towel each school
day.
Term One is the time when our
aquatics programme is in full
swing.
If your child is not well enough to
swim, but is well enough to attend
school, then please send a note to
their teacher.
Pay it Forward!
Thank you for your generous donations when we ask for it, donations of groceries and
your precious time, we really appreciate it and we couldn’t do it without you.
Remember, you can nominate for any reason you see fit – someone who is working
extra hard, who has done wonderful things for the community, or it could be someone
who could use some TLC, perhaps an illness in the family or a job loss?
New babies and moving into district are wonderful life celebrations but they don’t
come without stresses! Perhaps you know a family who could really just use a night
off cooking.
Due to some hard work and community generosity, our freezer is looking good right
now, so please forward us using the form below to the school office, or our facebook
private message, your thoughts for nominations.
Don’t forget to like and share our page!
