The journey came to an end in Buenos Aires, Argentina for Dana Hayward and Amanda Johnston in
tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA. The Newfoundland and Labrador-based
police officers fell behind the pack after struggling with a blindfolded soccer challenge at Futbol
Madero, and were eliminated from the race at the Pit Stop at Puenta de la Mujer (Woman’s Bridge)
in Puerto Madero.
Standing alongside Dana and Amanda at the Pit Stop, fellow police officers Brian and Cynthia said
the Newfoundland and Labrador pair did their badge proud. “They represented their people and their
province with honour,” said Brian, who, along with wife Cynthia, was second last to arrive at the Pit
Stop.

“We are so proud to be Canadian… and we’re proud of what we accomplished, and the
representation we made for our province, and our police force,” said a tearful Amanda.
“I’m so so happy I got to experience this amazing race with her,” added Dana.

Episode 303 Recap
From the Pit Start in Santiago, Chile, 10 teams travelled more than 1,500 kilometres to Buenos
Aires, Argentina. At Plaza Canada, their clue was waiting for them at a traditional totem donated by
Canada to Argentina to celebrate the rich Aboriginal heritage shared between the two countries. In
the first Road Block, teams had to spell the names of four famous Argentinians using lettered Mentos
Mint candies and gum. Teams then made their way to Futbol Madero for the next challenge – a
round of blind soccer where teams were forced to work as coach and player, with one team member
calling out directions to their blindfolded partner. At the limited stations Detour (room for only six
teams at each challenge), teams chose between two ways to win the heart of any Argentinian –
dance or dine. The dine Detour had racers memorize the Spanish orders of three different restaurant
patrons, while at the dance Detour, racers had to master and perform Argentina’s national dance –
the tango. Nic and Sabrina were the first team to arrive at the Pit Stop in Puerto Madero, but after
failing to complete the soccer challenge, they were forced to wait out a two-hour penalty. Neil and

Kristin were next to arrive at the Pit Stop, winning the leg. Host Jon Montgomery greeted them with
their leg prize – two round-trip tickets from Air Canada to Beijing, China, plus six months of free gas
from Petro-Canada.
