Formatting
Format Text: Use the commands in the Font group in the Home tab, or
click
the Dialogue Box Launcher in the Font Group to open the
Dialogue Box.
Copy Formatting with the Format Painter: Select the text with the
formatting you want to copy and click
button in the Home
tab. Select the text you want to apply the format to.
Indent a Paragraph: Click
group.
Decrease a Paragraph: Click

Editing
Cut or Copy Text: Select text to cut or copy > click

Insert a Comment: Select text where that you want to comment on > click
Review tab > click New Comment button in Comments group > type
comment > click outside comment text box.
Delete a Comment: Select comment to be deleted > click Review tab >
click Delete Comment button in the Comments group

Word Screen Layout
Create a new document: Click File tab, click New tab,
click Create button. Short cut press Ctrl + N
Open a document: Click File tab, click Open button.
Short cut press Ctrl + O
Save a document with a Different Name: Click File tab,
click Save As button. Enter a new name for document
Print document: Click File tab, click Print tab. Short cut
press Ctrl + P
Move Text with the Mouse: Select required text, drag
mouse to new location, release mouse button
Replace Text: Click Replace button in Editing Group on
the Home page. Short cut pess CTRL + H
The Ribbon has three basic components
Tabs. There are six of them across the top. Each
represents an activity area.
Groups. Each tab has several groups that show
related items together
Commands. A command can be anything from a
button, a drop-down list, or a box to enter information.
To Undo: Click
the undo button on the Quick Access
tool bar. Short cut press Ctrl + Z
Close a Document: Click the
press CTRL + W
Close button. Short cut
Correct a Spelling Error: Right-click the error and select
a correction from the contextual menu. Short cut press F7
to do a spell check
The Thesaurus: Right-click on the word, select
Synonyms, click on a word or select Thesaurus to search
To Get Help: Press F1 to open help window.
