Itinerary:
DAY 1:
• Salta - Transfer to the selected hotel. Breakfast included. In the afternoon visit to the historical
downtown, monuments and churches. Ascent up to the top of the San Bernardo Hill to enjoy the
panoramic view of the valley. Tour around the summery town of San Lorenzo. Return to the hotel.
• Night accommodation.
DAY 02:
• Cafayate is the cradle of the wine from Salta. Departure from Salta at 7:30 am, drive through the
towns of Valle de Lerma (Lerma Valley). After the town of Alemania, drive through the Quebrada
de las Conchas, wonderful landscape where the erosion has designed odd shapes in the reddish
mountains. Short hiking. Great place to take photos of Los Castillos, El Anfiteatro, Garganta del Diablo,
and others. In Cafayate visit to two wineries, where there will be Salta wines tasting, and walk around
the old town. In the afternoon, return to Salta.
DAY 03:
• Departure from the city of Salta to the town of La Viña. Load and horses preparations. Riding through
the mountains covered of forests of the Lerma Valley, along the course of the Las Pircas River. At sunset
arrival to Puesto El Churqui, a small mountain refuge where there will be homemade freshly cooked
empanadas waiting.
DAY 04:
• Going up the dense forest gradually gives way to height grasslands. This is the wild horses land.
At 3000 meters high, start descending into the deserted Valles Calchaquíes where it is possible to
see condors. Arrival to the town of Amblayo with 150 inhabitants, famous for its goat cheese.
At night, traditional barbecued lamb for dinner.
DAY 05:
• Visit the town of Amblayo and its ancient Church. Ride through the Valles Calchaquíes towards
the next stop, the Finca Isonza (Isonza Country house).

DAY 6:
• Ride back to La Viña. When reach 3000 meters high, there is an amazing view. The steep slopes
force to get down from the horses so they can go down by themselves. The forest landscape
turns up again. Ride along the narrow gorges of the Chilo River, between walls that are up to
40 meters tall. Arrival to La Viña.
• Transfer to the city of Salta. Night accommodation.
DAY 07:
• Salta- free day. Optional excursion to Humahuaca.
DAY 08:
• Salta - Transfer out.
