Hey America, how's it going? We know it's been a big week.
Our country is working through a lot of opinions and emotions about our new president-elect and our nation as a
whole. How is this impacting you? We want to know what you're thinking and how you're feeling no matter which
side you're on.
In this special dscout project we will follow the months after the presidential election through the thoughts and
emotions of real Americans. For the people, by the people. If you're selected, we'll ask you to document your
personal journey leading up to the inauguration in January. We hope this mission will provide a place to reflect on
your experiences, and share your point of view. In the application you'll need to record a video.

Mission 1 | Check-In: We the People
Overview
Welcome to the “We The People” project! This is your check-in mission, one of two missions in this project.
Over the the next 10 weeks, we will check in with you every 2 weeks to ask for a quick reflection entry. We'll ask how
you’re feeling about the President-elect and our nation as a whole. In addition to this check in mission, you will be
invited to complete a moments mission that requires you to submit entries every week until Jan 25. Read below for
more important instructions.
Instructions
WHEN:
We’ll send you a message every other Wednesday to ask for a quick reflection entry. Each time, you’ll answer a few
questions and take a 60 second video. The moments you share in the other mission will help us get a sense for your
day-to-day feelings and experiences, while this mission is your place to reflect.
You can expect to get a message reminder from us on the following dates: Nov 16, Nov 30, Dec 14, Dec 28, Jan 11 and
Jan 25. Each time, you'll have a few days to submit your check-in entry.
It’s important that all of your photos and videos are well-lit, in focus, and capture thoughtful material! Don’t forget to
speak up!
This is a special project, so we want to mark your participation with a special reward. For each scout who completes
the project, dscout pledges to donate $50 to Homes for Our Troops (http://www.hfotusa.org/mission). Our donation
goal is $3,000! Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a nonprofit organization that builds specially-adapted homes
nationwide for severely injured veterans, most of whom have sustained multiple limb amputations, partial or full
paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury. HFOT has received Charity Navigator’s highest rating of 4 Stars every
year since 2008. Charity Watch has awarded HFOT an A rating and included them on its list of Top-Rated Military &
Veterans Charities. dscout will donate $50 for each scout completing the project, up to our $3,000 goal!

Mission 2 | Moments: We the People
Overview
Welcome to the moments mission of the “We The People” project. This will be an ongoing mission lasting until Jan 25,
which is the week after the presidential inauguration.
In this mission, we want you to submit an entry anytime something related to the President-elect impacts you,
emotionally or otherwise. If you can, try to capture moments in real-time. We hope this mission will provide a place
to reflect on your experiences, and share your point of view. Read below for more important instructions.
Instructions
WHAT:
Share your personal journey leading up to the inauguration in January by documenting key moments that relate to
the President-elect and the future of our country. Show these experiences in real-time and explain how you’re feeling
in each moment.
What kinds of moments should you share?
- When you feel a strong emotion, negative or positive.
- If you see, read, or witness something you agree with or disagree with
- If you have a notable interaction
- If you come to a realization or learn something new
- If something confirms or conflicts with your expectations
Submit an entry anytime something related to the President-elect impacts you, emotionally or otherwise. If you can,
