Objective: Compare/contrast monotheistic religions and
Eastern philosophies.
Activities:
1. JOURNAL 4: List 2 ways that Buddhism and Hinduism are
similar and 2 ways they are different (T-chart). You will
have 3-5 sentences.
2. Discuss/ compare/contrast Eastern religions and
philosophies.
Follow Up/HW: Read Chapter 4 in the Strayer textbook (under
Teacher Resources). Answer Identify and questions at the
end. All is due on Tuesday.
Objective: Compare/contrast religions and philosophies.
Activities:
1. Journal 5: Write on a topic of your choice (3-5). Hand in.
2. Brainstorm comparison/contrast on Confucianism and
Daoism.
3. Divide students based on last name: Some will write a short
paragraph comparing Buddhism and Hinduism; others
Daoism and Confucianism.
4. Stamp homework from Strayer.
Follow Up/HW: Discuss this quote from Confucius with your
parent: “Let the sole worry of your parents be that you
become ill”.
