The first US Labor Day was celebrated in New York City
on September 5, 1882, where over 10,000 workers
marched in the first Labor Day Parade to protest 16hour workdays.
President Grover Cleveland declared Labor Day a
national holiday on June 28, 1894.
The Adamson Act in 1916, established the 8-hour
workday, that we now practice.
Labor day is considered the last unofficial day of Summer. So, use this day
to relax, cook-out, spend time with your family and friends and enjoy!
