«Attention! EMERCOM of Russia reports:
According to information of the Yekaterinburg's Observatory,
a meteorite crash occurred in Chelyabinsk region.
Please keep the peace. There is no impact on the livelihood
conditions of the population.
EMERCOM of Russia calls for the population from refraining
to use mobile phones in order to avoid network congestion.
There are no foreseeable repeated meteorite crashes.

Events of organization of informing the population were completed
in full capacity in a timely manner.

Mitigation of consequences of the emergency
Working group of the Governmental Commission for Emergency Response and Ensuring
Fire Safety was ensured directly at the scene of the emergency. The heads of the Commission –
Minister V.A. Puchkov and the Chairman of Chelyabinsk region’s Committee for Emergency
Response and Ensuring Fire Safety I. Muroga.
The measures for subsistence of the affected population were arranged, control for the socially
significant facilities was enhanced, the complex of measures for protection of shell, core and utilities of
the destroyed buildings was organized.
Overall 24127 people and 4327 units of equipment were involved in the mitigation of
consequences of the emergency situation, including 18787 people and 3563 units of equipment of
EMERCOM of Russia.
During the mitigation of consequences of the emergency, the units of the EMERCOM of Russia
glassed 24655,2 м2 of windows, demounted 3765 apertures of window, handled 263,15 tones of glass,
disposed 75255,6 м3 of construction waste.
Work of psychologists was organized, the hotline telephone numbers were opened.
1650 appeals of the citizens were registered, all of them addressed.
Overall, the organization of repair works caused by the emergency situation was
organized at a high level. All planned events for repairing livelihood of the population and
normalization of the situation in the region were completed. Works оn elimination of
consequences of the fall and explosion of the meteorite on the territory of the region were completed

by March 5th (with the exception of difficult sport facilities).
