Getting Ready for China – A One-day Seminar 5th May 2017 - London Are you ready for China? With one of the world’s fastest growing economies, China represents a significant opportunity for UK businesses. But do you understand what it takes to collaborate with Chinese businesses and are you ready to seize the opportunity? This seminar will illustrate how. The UK and China have recognised the opportunity to collaborate and work together not only on research but increasingly also on innovation. In December 2016, China and the UK signed an agreement to jointly develop a strategy for future UK-China science and innovation collaboration. This follows on from China’s 13th Five Year plan with innovation as its core and supported by the subsequent Innovation Driven Development Strategy. These milestones reflect recognition by the UK and Chinese governments, but also more globally, that innovation will be a key driver of economic growth and that international collaboration in innovation will be required to help solve current and future global challenges. Through building partnerships and collaborations, business in the UK and China can deliver significant mutual benefit and growth. Innovate UK will be providing opportunities for businesses and research organisations to develop collaborations with China though a number of competitions. Recently announced are the two competitions with Jiangsu province and with Shanghai: Details on the Jiangsu-UK industrial challenge programme are available here Details on the Shanghai Shanghai-UK collaboration on industry challenges are available here A briefing webinar on the competition process will be held on 21st April 2017; further information and link to registration to the webinar is available here To ensure that you are ready for China and understand both the challenges and opportunities of working in that market, Innovate UK is providing this one day seminar on ‘Getting Ready for China’ in partnership with the China-Britain Business Council. xxx | Error!
