Mood and tone
The mood and tone of hop-frog is about revenge and madness. The
king and his seven proud councilors made the cripple,dwarf, jester
Hop-frog drink, though they knew it drove poor Hop-Frog to madness.
Then Tripetta the dwarf's and hop frogs girlfriend got slapped by trying
to help hop-frog. Hop-frog got angry and tricked them. The result of this
trickery was Hop-Frog's revenge. He murdered the king and the seven
councilors by burning them. The king is representing Poe's foster
father. When hop frog turned mad from the wine it represents Poe's
vulnerability to alcohol. Summary/Hop frog rap
Yo! My name is Hop Frog and I don't like drinking.
The King hands me wine and I started thinking That I might have to murder him! (Murder him!)
My girl Tripetta, she's my thing
Gets on her hands and knees in front of the king
