Presidents Report for 11 May 2016 (from PE Keith standing in for President Sean)
Wednesday night we welcomed our newest Rotarian Loretta who was inducted and joins our
Youth program.
We enjoyed our guest speaker John Liddell who spoke about a pre war ocean motor launch that
its owners took on a world cruise. The tale went through its owners and the history of the Krupp
family until its demise years after the war. John is a very interesting speaker. Next week our
speaker is Alan Langhusen, who will tell us about Aid in Papua New Guinea..
President Elect Keith.

ROMAC
Update on Anton:
Dear D9810 ROMAC Team and Supporters,
It has been a couple of weeks since the last Anton update. After a small hiccup with his last chemo session, a
raised temperature which required two more days in hospital for it to settle down, he came home and has been
progressing well. Whilst his bloods were down a bit, requiring a transfusion, he is eating and sleeping well and is
now up over 12kg. Consequently, his night feed via nasal tube is being reduced with the aim to getting him to take
more food by mouth.
He was ‘guest of honour’ at the monthly Timorese Community luncheon last Sat afternoon and he and Claudina
continue to enjoy their weekly sessions of Scottish dancing with Dianne and Bill. At the Timorese luncheon they
met a young man from their village who is in Melbourne for Seminarian training which has proved a boon for
Claudina, with regular follow up phone calls now happening.
This coming week will be defining from the medical perspective in that Anton has an echocardiogram tomorrow
followed by a MRI next Tue. After the results are in, a family meeting will occur with Anton’s oncologists to
determine future action. Whilst Anton is under a general anaesthetic for the MRI the opportunity will also be taken
to perform some dental work as well.
So, all in all, things are progressing as well as can be expected, with some big decisions to be made after all the
scan results are in.
Regards
YIR
